This was a blast from the past. The rooms are a perfect time capsule of the 1970's. It brought back such fond memories from when I was a kid. The interiors would not be everybody's cup of tea but were immaculate and the price was great for the area. I was here attending Naval Basic Training graduation.
There isn't coffee in the room but Starbucks & Dunkin Donuts are almost walking distance. The owners have a vegetable garden in the back yard and beautiful flowers along the parking lot. You can see they have a lot of love for the property. I got definite Schitt's Creek motel vibes big times in the best possible way.

This was the last motel/hotel available near Chicago during my travel date, so I was kind of scared when I booked it. Although the rooms are very small, and the location is kind of difficult to get to due to road construction, I was pleasantly surprised. The couple who manages the motel was very friendly. The rates were great. While the decor in the room was VERY old and dated, the room was exceptionally clean, the bed was comfy, and I had a great night's sleep. The low price was well worth the room. This was a basic motel, with very few ameneties, but it fit my needs for an overnight stay, and the people who ran it were very friendly, and apparently cared a lot about cleanliness.

Stayed here for 1 night and this will be my go-to haven in Lake Bluff in the future -- my son and his family live in Lake Bluff - We got in several hours early and the manager let us check in early. I'd call this an Art Deco room - not a 5 star but better. Parking right outside the door - easy in , easy out. About a mile from our son's home. Cozy - frig and microwave - comfy beds. When I come again I may bring my little coffee maker as none in room. The manager was so very accomodating and such a reasonable price -- A real joy.

Cannot say enough good about how accommodating this family run motel was to a group of nine bicyclists. There was a little issue about the arrival date, but Bharat still found ALL of us great sleeping places in his motel & property. This motel is right off the bicycle path so very convenient for bicyclists. Definitely would spend the night again. Clean, quiet, & very helpful!! Several places nearby for food.

$60 For a shoe box bed and a 2 foot wide shower. The bed was harder than the concrete walkway outside... How are you guys open? Although I did not book a room (I stumbled upon this place late at night) the room size was not terrible. There were cockroaches crawling out of the sink and from under the bed. Honestly look like a horror movie scene, and I could hear the whispering from the people in the other room.

My son and I stayed here one night on our way to a football game in Indiana. |It was definitely dated but was clean and the man who checked us in was very nice. Free WiFi was available. ||There was no shampoo but there was soap. We had a small fridge and a microwave...no coffee.||We slept well. The room was a little musty but we opened a window for a while and also ran the A/C. |I gave this place 4 stars but if you're used to more modern, chain hotels it would proabably be closer to a 3. |If you're not super picky and need a quick, clean room..it's a good bet. ||We were in room 14.

Stayed here after getting lost in Chicago and driving many miles looking for a hotel/motel that had accommodation for the night. Stumbled across this place and we took a room. It's old, it still has wood paneling on the walls and a noisy window air conditioner. The room was clean and we had a great sleep. The next year we made the same trip from southern Ontario through Chicago and back up through Minnesota back to Ontario; we made it a point to stay over at the Sunset Inn again. Had another good stay and a wonderful sleep. We like it because of it's 1950's charm, back when times seemed to be simpler.

I had been here once before, stranded by weather, and my stay was okay. But this time the different room was not to accommodating. Yes our room was small, but it was clean. It had a tv, frig and microwave, but it was the bathroom that spooked me. It was VERY small (I couldn't change my mind in there), somewhat clean and cold. I guess you get the luck of the draw when you get a room. Some are good and some are not good.
