Our stay at the Goldmoor Inn was one of our most amazing hotel stays. The efforts to details and making our stay a memorable one was beyond our expectations. Most beautiful cabin in a wooded area next to the Mississippi River, what else can you ask for? Breakfast was delivered to our room and it was delicious!!! So many nic nacs in the cabin, it felt like it was ours. Heck... they even had a towel warmer in the bath room, A TOWEL WARMER!!!! Never saw that. The staff was courteous and helpful. Brigit (the owner) even gave us a tour of the Inn. Amazing stay and it wont be our last!!!

Just finished our 50th Anniversary weekend with a wonderful stay at the Goldmoor. The French Cottage was amazing, the review pictures don’t do it justice. Beautiful river vistas with a horse farm below the bluff- very entertaining. The daily breakfast was delivered right on time and delicious, different each day. Our anniversary meal was fantastic thanks to the chef and our delightful server Jocelyn. Thanks to Birgitta and Slobo for their hospitality and this magical place.

Goldmoor Inn, Galena – Beautiful Inn but Disappointed with Spa Service ||If you’re looking for a special getaway, Goldmoor Inn in Galena has warm hospitality, breathtaking views, and quaint accommodations.||Our suite was decorated with a private whirlpool tub and a fireplace that made for the perfect romantic atmosphere. The bed was comfortable, and the attention to detail, from the plush robes to breakfast in on suite was enjoyable.||The highlight of our stay was the gourmet breakfast, which was delivered right to our room each morning. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the view of the Mississippi River from our cottage. We also had dinner at the on-site restaurant, and the meal was exceptional—each dish beautifully prepared and full of flavor.||The staff was friendly and attentive. The inn’s location is a short drive from downtown Galena, but far enough to feel like a secluded retreat.||I was really looking forward to a relaxing spa experience at Goldmoor Inn, especially given the premium price we paid for two deep tissue massages. Unfortunately, while my husband had an excellent experience—he even said it was the best scapula work he's ever had—my massage was extremely disappointing.||Despite asking my therapist five different times for deeper pressure, I never received the level of massage I had paid for. I brought up my concerns at checkout the next morning, and the staff member assured me that she would discuss the issue with the owner.||The day after we checked out I received an email asking for a Trip Advisor review. | However, it has now been four days, and I have yet to receive any follow-up or acknowledgment regarding the issue. For a place that prides itself on luxury and exceptional service, I expected much better customer care. ||While the inn itself is beautiful, this experience left a sour taste. At this price point, guests should receive both top-tier service and accountability when things don’t go as expected.

Once again the owners and staff provided an excellent weekend getaway for us. The massage service was exquisite and the food was world class. My wife and I appreciate the intimate setting. We also enjoy the pride that the whole team takes in ensuring that all guests are treated like family. We’ll definitely be staying there again.

Every little detail is thought of with care and precision! The Edge provided exquisite cuisine. It is obvious Chef really takes pride in his craft and the waitresses description and guidance on menu items was spot on!

Absolutely a great place. 5 Star beginning to end. Beef Wellington was wonderful and the Halibut with clams was perfect. This is a beautiful setting for couples along the Mississippi River. The owners are hands on and made sure everything was great for us.

We wanted to commemorate our first anniversary in a special way. The Goldmoor was definitely a special treat. The room was spacious, quiet, and beautiful. The food was superb. We booked a couples massage, the highlight of our trip. We highly recommend the Goldmoor for a magical getaway!

This was our second trip to Galena as a couple, first time staying at the Goldmoor. My husband and I stayed three nights in the Arthur Suite. We travel frequently, are happy to pay a premium for luxury and are fine dining enthusiast.|| I will start with the Pros- The Inn itself is lovely, quiet and the rooms are well appointed. Our suite had its own temperature control and had plenty of hot water. The room was very clean, and we were pleased with the daily cleaning service received. This is so rare now a days, so we were really happy to return daily to a clean. fully serviced room. The in-room breakfast is such a treat! Not everything was flavorful, but having it brought daily to our room was very special and was the best part of our stay. The service was friendly enough, but not over the top. ||Cons-|The on-site restaurant was a horrific experience. I want to couch this by saying that my husband and I have traveled extensively solely for the purposes of enjoying fine cuisine frequently driving to Chicago for Dinner and dining everywhere from Gris-Gris in New Orleans to Chez FonFon in Birmingham all the way to Le Bernardin in Manhattan; we are happy to pay for a good meal. What we were served and how we were treated in the restaurant our first night nearly ruined the entire trip. We both ordered the beef wellington, and the meat was literally bad. It was easily the worst bite of beef I have ever had, anywhere. It was either frozen for too long, or outright sour. I quietly sent it back immediately and declined anything else as replacement because I was very concerned about getting ill. My husband who is very easy to please took some additional bites, but also stated the beef had an odd "liver-like" flavor. We then requested our check because at that point we just wanted to put the whole experience behind us. While both plates were taken off our bill (Which we did not request but I do believe was appropriate) No one including the Chef or Owner came to speak with us, despite the owner visiting literally every other table in the restaurant. We were very quiet about the entire incident, did not make a scene, etc. However, the waitress proceeded to engage in conversation and snickering with the table behind us about the incident. Extremely rude and unprofessional. ||This situation was so disturbing and nearly ruined an otherwise lovely Inn, that we had no other complaints about and paid quite a premium for the stay.
