Very spacious room! Modern and really nice overall. We had a gorgeous view of the mountains right outside of our front door. Location was just outside of town and the lodge is on the same road as Exit Glacier. Highly suggest staying there.

A lovely room with all the amenities: large fridge and freezer, large tv, microwave, coffee pot, sink. The only thing I didn’t like were sliding doors to the bathroom. The property is brand new as of 2024 and nicely designer . The owner was very responsive. I loved my stay there and would stay there again. Good value for the price.

Clean room. Loved the coffee shop next to the hotel. The remote check in was terrific as we arrived very late..... After 11pm. Only issues were that the bed was very soft and would have appreciated some signage off of the road. Only turned there because of the espresso shop sign. All in all a great space with a full kitchen. Loved the fan for white noise at night too.

I always stay here when I travel to Seward for work. I love how quiet and safe it is, and its convenient location to the Park and town. They have a smart TV, great internet, and a coffee shop!

I also really, REALLY love the owners’ pups who roam the property. I was greeted by this cutie both days I’ve stayed at Spruce Lodge this week. Naturally, I have her all the pats and head scratches.

Thanks, Spruce Lodge! I always look forward to coming back!

Positive: The grounds are gorgeous, the lake is lovely, the restaurant is excellent, the staff are delightful and our room was fantastic/ large, well thought out and updated. Negative: Yes! More lawn chairs or benches under the trees would be perfect and if they would just train that eagle to eat out of their hand it would be perfection! Don?t miss this place.

Owners Brittney and John are native Alaskans who just bought this lovely hotel and have already begun expanding it. This rustic-looking exterior contains rooms that are simple, tasteful and very comfortable. Our room is a studio apartment complete with fridge and a little kitchenette. A second building is already going up, and a coffee shop on the premises has already been built. When we shared with Brittney a need for transportation on Friday, she was more than happy to assist us by offering a special run of the hotel’s shuttle into town. In addition to all of this, we have a wonderful view of spectacular Mount Baker through the window. I daresay that in the future when we come to Seward, one of our favorite places, we will certainly try to make the Spruce Lodge our home while we are here.

Super squeaky hot water pipes, thin walls and floors; we could hear every footfall and chair scrape from the room above us. The rooms also have a refrigerator which would normally be great, except the ice machine makes ice all night incredibly noisily and I didn’t see a way to shut it off. I should mention that I’m hearing impaired and normally have no problem shutting out ambient noise, but this was above and beyond “ambient.”The thermostat wasn’t capable of actually getting the room cool enough to be comfortable. Additionally, the mattress was terrible: we felt every spring. Very disappointed for what should have been a very nice stay: great location and what looked like a new building. Stay elsewhere if you want to get a good nights’ sleep.

The best thing about this property is Azura and Kris. The most friendly and helpful hosts. We were so well taken care of here. I would come back just for the hospitality. Something’s to know that we didn’t: 1) Let them know when you’re coming in and if you need pick up. We came in on the early train and we didn’t know that they would pick up our bags at the station while we explored Seward. But when they found out that we were exploring Seward with our luggage, we arranged a meet up where Chris collected our bags. Later, at check in time, Kris was available to pick us up. 2) Not a lot of options for eateries. However, Kris recommended a restaurant around the street that was a good options. 3) As of right now, they only have one room with two beds. All the other rooms are single queens. But, thankfully they are building more rooms that can accommodate two beds Other than that, it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom/ closet barn door was not well thought out. But other than that, this is an excellent place to stay in Seward. Especially, if you’re stopping over before and/ or after a cruise. The HOSPITALITY is everything!
