Just had some of the best lasagna in town; not a typical menu item here but it was on special. Was I glad I got it?!! Would strongly recommend! Love the atmosphere, and having someone remodel a beautiful downtown building in the city of Freeport. Will definitely be back!

Restaurant and winery gem in an old American small city in Illinois farmland area. Building is a converted newspaper publishing venue. Servers all superb. Specialty dishes always. Chef(s) are excellent. We have lake house 25 miles away and eating here lunch or dinner is always a treat. Mushroom onion soup is a must. Owner loves his wine and selection pleases even my wife.

I am the owner of Moving N grooving DJs and I had a fantastic experice spinning a wedding at The Wagner House last night for the first time.

This place is a little bit outside my typical service area but I'm glad I took the event!

The place has an old factory or warehouse vibe to it. Lots of wood and bricks. I feels like a downtown Chicago venue but in Freeport. Very unique and cool.

The staff was very welcoming and easy to work with. They treated the guest and vendors like family. This is important becuase we vendors have so much to do on a wedding day and if the venue staff is "cold" or not easy to work with it can create an extra layer of uneccessary stress!

I am greatful to have had an amazing experience here and I would defintally recomend.

Mixed emotions. The environment is amazing. The service is spotty on their mission. The food...I just don't go anymore. Too much salt. I've tried a few times, but it's always the same. I like to start my meal with soup and salad, but my palate is destroyed with the amount of salt in the soups, gravys, sauces, etc, thus resulting in my meal not tasting very good. I keep trying to like it...but. Sip. Chew. Enjoy.

We had our business Christmas dinner here last Friday and it was wonderful. Food was delicious, service was great, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Lovely jazz music playing in the background and it's beautifully decorated for Christmas. Overall just a really great night, couldn't have asked for better. Thank you Wagner House for making our last Christmas dinner so special. (we are retiring and new owners will be taking over)

Best Food in town hands down!
This is the only place in Freeport that has a In House Chef.
Perfect place for a date night and great food! They have plenty of room for gatherings, parties, receptions...or if you just want a good meal for the day. Also a wide selection of spirits! Great atmosphere, Great Food, and a Great staff!

We've heard how great the food and atmosphere is here, but for whatever reason we just hadn't made it yet.
Well.... it lives up to the hype and great reviews. We had a dinner at lunch kinda visit and the food was delicious Pretzel Crusted Grouper and Scallops were equally good! Great to see old buildings repurposed, alot of history in them.
Also has a nice little shop inside to find unique fun things.
