I would like to give a big Shoutout to Leise at the Front Desk. Leise provided excellent service and was very professional. She also recognized my husband from a trip a few years ago. She is a natural in hospitality. Thank you for hosting us.

This hotel is in a dumpy part of town. To be fair, downtown Anchorage as a whole is a less than desirable place to be. Hardly any people except for those who want to hassle you. Our worst hassle happened midday about 2 blocks from this hotel. The guy was throwing stuff, yelling at us and then proceeded to follow our family of four grown adults all the way back to the fenced in hotel parking lot. It was a scary situation. The hotel obviously can’t help where it is located, but they could do some work to repair things on the property. Not the cleanest place, and our room could have used some repairs (hooks ripped off the wall in the bathroom, etc.). We were supposed to stay here again at the end of our week in Alaska and canceled. Opted to stay elsewhere out of town, which ended up being an excellent choice.

It’s tricky to write a review , as on one hand the room was great, the staff so very friendly and helpful, but the area wasn’t great Anchorage has an issue with less fortunate people and the walk back to the hotel made me feel uneasy. Also opposite the hotel is a nightclub with very loud music not the hotels fault but it did impact our nights sleep.

Was trapped here over the 4th of July. The bar next door is allowed to play there music at an obnoxious level. You can't sleep from the booming of the base. I was told it was only like that a couple times a week. No offer to move us to the other side of the hotel, we would just have to deal with it

The service and breakfast were great. The location was great. Our room smelled like pool. The building was being renovated which excused the smells in the hallways and stairwells, but our room shouldnt have smelt like that. The parking was limited, and I had to park on the dimly lit street in a less than comfortable part of town.

Rooms are spacious. Beds were comfortable. The fridge was too noisy, but luckily there is door between bedroom and small living space area. Breakfast could be richer for the price. Coffee is just bad. Bring your own tea, there is a very poor choice, black and decaf Lipton.. Kids enjoyed the pool, which had cool water, and afterwards they could warm up in the hot tub.

We stayed there for a week back in March. Was VERY pleased with everything!!! Our first encounter with the staff (Quentin) was amazing!! He was very helpful with all the information about where things were, not only in the hotel, but in Anchorage itself. He went out of his way to make sure we knew right where we were going and gave us several ideas of places to visit while there.
The rooms were a nice size for a week long stay, and the location was within minutes of everything downtown. The only complaint I have was really about the time for breakfast. Could go until about 10...when on vacation, people like to sleep in a little. Other than that, we had a wonderful trip and stay in Anchorage. Looking to plan another trip and would love to stay here again, but seems to always be booked!!

I believe this is the worst Choice Hotel I have stayed in. It desperately needs a full renovation. Cigarette smoke stink from previous years back in carpet. The bed was OK. The Air Conditioner was extremely noisy and my wife could not sleep in that room, (was on a tour and heard similar complaints) . Food was OK, but arrive early to get hot stuff. I watched the manager standing behind the counter when the phone rang 7+ times doing counter person taking care of guest and manager just stands there This personnel issues are seen constantly. It is easy to walk from to downtown.
