A great clean place for one or two nights. Thick comfortable mattress, plenty of pillows. I reserved the first floor, however, the view is of a fence dividing the property. Recommend the second floor. Small flight of stairs to the second and down to the first floor.
Pleasant staff with coffee and breakfast sandwiches they can heat up (7-7) Heating is centrally controlled, they do have a space heater if you need it.

This hotel has a fantastic concept. They make check-in and access very easy through technology. It's an older building with fantastic upgrades. They have made the most of each room and they are very clean and modern. The use of space is thoughtful and everything works well. I did have an interior room, which was a bit stuffy, but they had the room equipped with a ceiling fan, table top fan, AND another cooling table top fan. It made the room quite comfortable. They are very responsive to every text, email, or request. This is a hidden gem in downtown and I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed there a couple of month ago. It was perfect. I just needed one room to rest after a long flight. The price was reasonable if you compare with all the other hotels in anchorage. The room was smaller than i thought but it was very clean and lovely. There are microwave, refri and heater in the room. I decided to stay one more night and when i emailed them, they immediately made my reservation and try to not move me from my room. The most perfect thing they have is that you don't have to do check in or anything. You just enter the pin they send you to enter to the hotel and the room. I would stay there if I visit anchorage again.

We came for a convention at the De'nai Center. Perfect walking distance. A great parking lot.
Rooms were exceptional, clean, new & spacious.
This is an old building with new owners. They have put huge amounts of work and thought into making this hotel comfortable.
There is some visible "old" to the building, this is Alaska, enjoy the history!
The coffee shop was a cherry on top. Although coffee was in our room, it was not the expresso some of us crave! 7 AM & someone was ready to make you delicious coffee.
Hands down an excellent experience and will return for overnight stays in Anchorage. We spent 4 nights.
Staff and owners were active & available during office hours. Everyone was a treat & Alaskan neighborly.

Pros: Service is fantastic. Responsive through text and eager to please at the front desk. You are checked before arrival and given a passcode for the main door and your room. Very smooth. I was given a free upgrade to a better room for my weeklong stay. The rooms offer free coffee in your room. The beds are heavenly. So comfortable. The location is easy walking distance to downtown and walking trails.

Cons: while the room was clean, the carpet has some gnarly stains. The walls are thin enough to hear people talking at a normal level. NOTE: Rooms labeled with no view mean there is no window to outside. You will have a window into the hallway.

Is this place the Hilton. Nope. Would I stay here again. Easily. For the price it was great and I would much rather give my money to a local business.

This place is awesome. I love the automated system. The room, private bathroom were very clean. The bed is so comfortable even with sun out at midnight. You will not regret staying here. The updated text messages make things simple. And if you need to contact anyone they respond immediately. My wife and I were so please and satisfied with our stay there.

My family and I all stayed at the Highliner before traveling to Seward for a cruise, and we all had a great stay! The rooms were clean, the beds were really comfortable, and I loved the nautical decor. Check-in/out couldn't have been easier or more convenient. The location was perfect with a 10-minute or less walk to everything in downtown, and the little food hall right down the block was amazing with Fire Island Bakeshop and coffee at That Feeling Company. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely, clean and a block away from an amazing bakery/coffee shop. Checkin is very easy with codes sent directly - made getting into rooms a snap.

10 min from the airport and walking distance from the train station. Looks of great restaurants within walking distance as well.

Highly recommend staying here.
