We chose this hotel for the price. I was not expecting much, due to it being cheaper than almost any other place. It turned out to be a very nice stay. The room was clean and quiet and our stay was very pleasant. There is a free breakfast and enough amenities to make it all a great place to stay. The staff is not terribly polite! but they are helpful. Overall, I am so glad we stayed here, it was near the airport, and it was a positive experience.

I booked this as it was a few miles away from the downtown area. Prices were reasonable. Hotel is fair, dated but ok. Nothing too bad. Staff was really good.
Best part was they had a free shuttle which was very helpful. I didn’t rent a car but could get around everywhere I needed with their shuttle. A couple bucks of tip every drive was so worth it rather than rent a car. Anthony our driver was very helpful.
Room service was non existent even after hanging the tag outside the door.
Another good part which I realized later is they had free breakfast as well. It was continental and same for all 3 days but it was ok to grab a quick bite and head out. Coffee available throughout the day. Inexpensive as compared to the other downtown hotels which were exorbitant during my stay period.

Rice garden restaurant which is in same complex is amazing and a boon after a tiring day.

Night staff was excellent with our early morning transfer to the airport. The room was very spacious and clean just needs some updating. Beds were comfortable. It is a nothing fancy motel. Clean and spacious parking lot. We would stay here again.

Stayed just one night in order to catch a flight. Room absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke and me and my stuff did as well the next day. Cigarette burns in one of the chairs and toilet lid. Supposedly a non-smoking motel. Chairs in room were stained as was the bath tub and shower curtain. But the bed was clean and somewhere to lay our heads for a few hours.

Shuttle bus driver was amazing! Lovely man and went out of his way to help us.

From the free airport pickup to checkout everything went well. Pleased with our room, bedding was fine, bathroom in good shape. I would stay there again. The shuttle really came in handy. Just set up a time and they’ll take you wherever you want to go.

First off ... Thanks for everyone's Covid... The driver told us she was sick.. she also pulled up with the back door to the van wide open and flapping ... Gross room
I didn't even wanna check for bed bugs . We had been up almost 24 hours traveling. My elderly parents needed a rest.
Gross things growing in the shower drain was awful.. we just closed the curtain so we didn't have to see it.
Roches crawling in the daylight.
Don't get excited about the breakfast unless you eat dry cereal... Even the boiled eggs were bad.
The crack head van in the parking lot they they say their employees live in looks disgusting.
And don't get us started about the panty palace that shares a parking lot .
Lots of people walking thru at all hours
This was the only place we could find
Good for a few hours I guess but not for a family saying for vacation

We stayed at the zInn at the beginning & end of our 3 week adventure for 2 reasons: 1. The free shuttle from & to the airport & downtown & 2. proximity to the downtown Enterprise rental center.
Our first room was a second floor (walk-up) on the back side of the property, it was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We asked for a first floor room for our second stay & it was on the front of the building, noisier but the room appeared to be recently partially updated & except for a very tight tub/toilet room, was very suitable.
We had to leave for our return flight at 2:30am & the shuttle driver was on time & seemed happy to deliver us. The morning before our very early departure, the staff encouraged us to take some breakfast foods so we would have them when we got to the airport.
Every staff member we encountered was accommodating & quick to fulfill our requests.
I had read several reviews about the location of the hotel, particularly it being behind an adult entertainment store; quite frankly, the location was not bad at all & the store mentioned wasn’t even noticed.
If we return to Anchorage, we will definitely stay at the MFI.

If you have a choice..choose another hotel. This hotel is located very close to the Anchorage prison..we are talking walking distance. The night we were supposed to stay there we pulled in to a parking lot where homeless people were walking around and people high on drugs. I tried to be open minded and got our room key. Our room was disgusting..dirty and smelled like weed and cigarettes and looked like it hadn’t been updated in 30 yrs.
I immediately returned my key and told the front desk guy we would not be staying there and left. A few weeks later I got my credit card bill and did not receive a refund. I called Merrill Inn and they were incredibly rude and stated they would not refund my money but that I should have done more research if I didn’t like the location and since they offered me a different disgusting and dirty room it was my loss if I didn’t like the neighborhood. (That’s literally what she told me)
(I’ve never been to Alaska-this was just a place to rest after a worldwide IT glitch left us stranded in the airport for two days.)
They had ZERO customer service. This is NOT a family friendly hotel unless you want bed bugs or to get mugged.
(Stay in the Ramada instead..it’s the same price and in a safe neighborhood with staff that have excellent customer service)
If I could give negative stars I would. I told the rude young lady I was going to do a review on their incredibly poor service and she didn’t care..enjoy my $200..you will lose much more due to my honest review.
Go elsewhere.
