It was pretty nice, I enjoyed the recliner seats they were clean, nice, and comfy, I liked how it wasn't too hot or cold in the cinema. Also, the theather had a great ambiance, friendly people, nice bathrooms, and overall a great atmosphere, would go again! The only thing I would point out would be to maybe add some small tables or more cup holders for the food and maybe as a small storage space, and I also wished the food was cheaper, it was good but a little expensive.

I was very excited to see “Princess Mononoke” in theaters. The pictures great. The sound great. The seats awful. The IMAX seats suck.
I would never have paid $22.70 a ticket to sit in those uncomfortable seats. They are worse than airplane seats. The seats are soft for about 15 minutes and they you just feel squished to the person next to you and no way to recline at all. I will not be watching another movie at this theater again. I’d rather go to a regal cinema, at least their seats don’t suck and ticket prices are cheaper. I’ll be watching Studio Ghibli at home from now on, on my comfortable couch. The in theater experience not worth it for the cost and discomfort.

I had the pleasure of visiting AMC Barrington, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience! The theater was clean, modern, and well-maintained. AMC South Barrington 24 – Where the Dolby Sound is So Good, You'll Forget to Eat Your 🍿 popcorn.

Walking into AMC South Barrington 24 is like stepping into a parallel universe where your eardrums are the main event. Forget the movie, folks—the real star here is the Dolby sound system. Seriously, it's so crisp, so clear, and so immersive that I’m convinced I could hear Batman's emotional baggage whispering in the background.

The screen? Oh yeah, it's big and beautiful, but you won't even notice because your entire body will be vibrating to the sound of a T-Rex stomping on your childhood dreams. Honestly, I was so caught up in the sound, I forgot I was holding a bucket of popcorn the size of a small child. By the time I remembered, I had eaten half of it in shock during a particularly intense explosion.

The seats are as comfortable as they come—perfect for gripping the armrests when that Dolby bass drop makes you question your life choices. And let’s not forget the visual experience, which is just as spectacular as the sound. I’m pretty sure I saw the reflection of my own awe-struck face in Iron Man’s suit.

But beware: once you experience a movie here, you may never be able to go back to your regular, non-Dolby, non-eardrum-shattering life. You’ve been warned.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Just bring earplugs if you're not ready for your ears to be in the movie too!

I drive all the way from Rockford, Illinois about 45min drive. 🦦

This is our local movie theater and the one we visit the most often. It's always clean, cleaner than other AMC theaters in busier locations. The smaller screens have updated seating with big soft recliners. The IMAX theaters still have the older style seating, which has as many seats packed into the theater as possible. They're kinda like airplane seating, you'll share a tiny armrest with the stranger next to you. We recently saw Interstellar in IMAX here and it was great. Big, bright screen and the volume was loud enough so you can really feel the important bits but not loud enough that it hurt your ears.

The bathrooms are always functional and clean. Even on weekends, it's never overly crowded. If you come here on a weekday afternoon, you might be the only person in your theater.

AMC South Barrington 24 exceeded expectations! The Dolby theater, in particular, was a standout—its sound system was incredible, immersing us completely in the movie. My kids had a blast, making it a fantastic family outing.

The concession stand had a great selection of classic movie snacks, and the popcorn was fresh and perfectly buttery. Whether you’re there for the top-notch sound, a wide variety of snacks, or just a fun night out, this theater delivers. Highly recommend for families or anyone looking for a premium movie experience!

It’s a great AMC theater. It’s pretty much like any typical AMC but it’s still good. The only thing I don’t like is how each bathroom is on another side of the entrance.
