Visiting the 2023 IL State Fair. Enjoying the wine tasting going on in this building is fantastic. Off the regular path, cool and relaxing. Great place to showcase Illinois great wines and wineries.

The artisan building at the State fairgrounds has been remodeled and is a wonderful place to host an event or to visit while you're at the fair.

I have been to weddings and other affairs there and found that it is a very comfortable environment to enjoy with patio balconies outside available to relax and take in The view.

We attended a wedding in the first part of December. It was simple yet beautiful & classy. There were about a 100-150 people in attendance. Open bar, food buffet, & DJ Booth. One half of the building was set up for the wedding.. approx 75 chairs on each side of the aisle..a beautiful arch made of twigs & white Christmas lights.. On the other half of the building was 25-30 large round table & chairs, a long table for the wedding party & the tables for the food. As soon as the I do's were done, the folding chairs were quickly gathered up & put away.. making that half a large dance floor. There was also a photo booth with props for the guest to have fun with. My understanding is that the rental of the building was 1,000 dollars & that's all you got for it. It's up to you to decide what to do with the space, & what to offer. The parking wasn't the greatest situation, but overall it wasn't too big of a deal. In my opinion, it's a great place for weddings, birthday parties, reunions, etc.

I like this place for many reasons. It is an iconic building with wide open spaces. The only thing I don't like is that the sound bounces around the room. It would be nice if some acoustic tiles were added to help absorb some of the sound waves. People that are hard of hearing will have a hard time in this building if there is a band or DJ.

We hosted a wedding reception at the Artisans Building and were extremely pleased with the staff for non-fair events at the Illinois State Fairgrounds and with the facility itself. Having a function at the Artisans Building is a lot of work, but serves well for DIYs like us. There are so many options for room set-up to accommodate the number of guests. The reception we hosted was for about 150, but the room could have handled many more. The wood floor is great for dancing, and the grand structure leaves an awe-struck impression.

Illinois State Fair arts displays are beautiful and the Artisans' building is lovely and air-conditioning is fantastic!
