I want to start with a positive first! The front desk agent was so lovely and kind checking us in!! Helpful and friendly!
As far as the room and the motel itself, we were pretty sold because of the most recent reviews saying it was a nice place for the price. I understand this is a motel, and that there's a standard for places like this, (super8, motel 6, etc.) but I could not believe how awful it was when we got to the room.
The whole place was dingy. We stepped inside and it smelled like mildew immediately, just musty and wet like old laundry that hadn't been dried. My first instinct in all hotels is to check bedsheets and the like, and so I found that the sheets had splotches of random liquids, red, blue, god knows what else. And the mattress itself had all of these tiny black dots all over it near the corners that freaked me out. I have no idea if it was bed bugs or just stains. Or both.
The door also did NOT have a working lock, just the keycard lock, and the door doesn't close behind you so you have to make sure to pull it closed.
The floor was also disgusting. Clearly they did not mop, or at least even spot mop. I cannot even begin to imagine what was on the floor by the edge of the bed. 🤢
We ended up just leaving and going two minutes up the road to Comfort Inn. Route 66 is cheap, and the lobby is cute, but it is certainly only going to get you the bare minimum: a dingy place to lay your head for a few hours. :/

This is a very unique & different style place to stay. My kids and I enjoyed walking around and looking at everything around and learning a few things. There is a restaurant inside the building but unfortunately it didn’t seem to be open very often. The sound barrier in the rooms are not very good, keeping my littles quit was a task. But they had so much fun and we did not feel cramped with all of us either which was great! They were more than welcoming even with all 3 of our service dogs. I would recommend this to be a place to stop. There’s also adult game room facing the front of office.

It's sad that I actually was considering going back for long term stay just to read the reviews after my other long term and find that they are still coming up short. I stayed in this (historical) hotel for a little over a year and complained and complained to no conclusion. Jason is the one most people on these reviews are complaining about and replying to these complaints. I've had run ins with him myself. They were remodeling when I was there at all times of the night dogs etc as well. I was moved out of one room to another because I was a long term stay. 127 is mentioned in another review about a year and half after I left it. I'm disgusted. I spent a lot of time trying to make my room comfortable. Some of the staff was cool most were just childish and was either there because they had no other way to pay so they had to put in work, knew someone or was simply related. My toilet didn't flush. I got the" the hotel was built in the...)"total crap when it rained real hard my room flooded which left an ugly stench and different bugs I'd never seen before.

Visited the bar and grill for the J&J passport promo but unfortunately they are closed on Mondays. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. Plan on going back for dinner soon. Have heard good things about the food.

We just stopped by the restaurant for dinner. $10 plate specials every Sunday, very friendly atmosphere, good music. Folks were dancing. 🙂 It was crowded when we were there but worth the visit. Fried chicken plate is highly recommended! Reason for 4/5 is our service was slow. They could use an extra server on weekends.

We visited this hotel as a small getaway. The suite was clean, everything was organized and clean. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was good as well. Thebknky complaint would be no breakfast. So bring your own coffee and breakfast stuff. Solid 4 stars.

First off the staff was all really nice but for one guy that we had multiple encounters with. The rooms and hallways smelled like pot and poop 24/7 hour room was trashed and disgusting while we got it…we did an extended stay for a month and they told us we were allowed to have our cats because they are pet friendly so we paid our deposit. Our stay was supposed to be through the 15th of November the man we had several encounters with came at me with an attitude and called today and asked if we were extending our stay because we were supposed to be out yesterday I said our reservation was through the 14th and we paid almost 1400 dollars for it. House keeping was not included, had to buy your own toilet paper and garbage bags. Everything in the room was falling apart, but let me get to the worst part….i didn’t want to argue with the guy so I said we would be right over to get our things. I went to go check out and he said to me I hope you don’t plan on getting your deposit back and I said I’m why and he says because the room is trashed and smells like someone left a big pile of poop in there, which again was not true we swept and cleaned before we left. I think he was getting the smell confused with the way the entire hotel smells. Also they never clean their common bathrooms the same trash would sit in there for 4 to 5 days. My suggestion to everyone DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE unless you’re in a desperate situation and need to stay at this crack hotel. I’ve never been spoken to in my life the way this man spoke to me! Clearly he is in the wrong industry of customer service! And as you can tell from the response he wasn’t “rude” at all! Very professional! Keeping it classy

Delightful place full of Route 66 memorabilia and times long past. I was not traveling, so did not stay at the hotel. I was there for a catered event. Food left very much to be desired. I ordered roast beef - don't know what happened to the meat, but I have never had roast beef of that consistency and texture. While the flavor was OK, I could not get past the slablike, kind of rubbery texture, like it had been ground and mushed then pressed into a mold. Maybe it was canned? I don't know. I tried to eat it but could only get a couple of mouthful down. I took it home to my son, he had no problem with it. The other choice for the meal was chicken It looked good, and others said it was. The side dish was neeps and tatties (a Scottish dish of potatoes and rutabagas similar to lumpy mashed potatoes). I don't think these are probably on their menue, but we're special for this event. I don't know if they made them or they were ready made. They were delicious, however, they were served cold. (They are supposed to be served warm.) Maybe they didn't know. They were a little more chilled than room temperature. I still ate them, but I couldn't melt any butter on them, which I would have liked to been able to do.

That being said the service was good, and I discovered one of my favorite waitresses, who I knew well from another establishment, Lexie, had just started 3 days prior! Loved seeing her! Service was great and Lexie will be a wonderful addition to their wait staff! They are lucky to have her!
