The hotel is a bit of walk from the El but it’s doable. Something if an impersonal hotel as it’s a bit set apart from the city but immediately connected to the convention center.||Check in was fast and they immediately recognized my Marriott status and upgraded me to a room with jaw dropping views of downtown.||The room was clean but the corridor to the room had trash bags set aside by housecleaning and the corridor smelled. Also the corridor carpet has stains from where the garbage sits. ||The elevators are fast but sometimes stop at many floors when it gets busy.||The status lounge is roomy, bright and comfortable. The people who work there are friendly.

Stayed here for a conference because it is connected to the conference center. Didn't realize how big of a walk it would be...maybe 15min. It's also very away from everything else in the city including food. Their breakfast buffet was pretty sad but one of the only quick options. Service is very slow in the breakfast restaurant even if you are getting buffet. Not very impressed with limited selection for $30/person. Rooms were clean and comfortable but didn't appreciate the $6 water bottles...for the price of the room... water should be free. No microwave in the room. Fridge didn't get cold enough. Shower took me about 20 minutes to figure out how to work. Other marquis that I've stayed at had better overall experiences.

Odds are you that you are staying at the Marriott Marquis for a conference or perhaps for a visit to Soldier Field. The Marriott is a great hotel for a conference. Rooms are very nice and clean, food readily available is good, and team is very friendly.||I was upgraded to a hospitality suite with city views which was fantastic.||The Marriott Marquis excels at being excellent at what it does. Being a great, comfortable, clean hotel for a nice stay.

This hotel is beautiful! The service was so friendly as well! It is not cheap. You definitely pay to stay here and the food is very expensive as well (photo of my to go turkey sandwich, soda, and chips for over $30). The rooms are fantastic though! I stayed in 1940 and had an AMAZING view of downtown! Daytime and night time photos included. The amenities in the room were great! From pillow spray to help you sleep to a high end hair dryer, they thought of everything. I did think for a plush as the hotel seemed, the mattresses are hard and feel cheap. The bedding is nice though and the room was very clean! I enjoyed my time here, just wish the beds were as plush as everything else!

I will update later, when I have more time, but let me say this, the bartender saw that I was in medical distress, and without his intervention, I likely wouldn't have made it to the hospital. The next day, I told the manager, but to the bartender with the wild West mustache, thank you for the superb service and going out of your way to ensure that I was well. The food was excellent, the service on the day/lunch shift was great, the rooms were clean, and the view was phenomenal.

The next time I visit Chicago, I will definitely be staying at the Marriott Marquis Chicago

Last-minute stay,. was out with girl friend and we had one too many and decided to spend the night. I was very delighted with the Marriott. The room was in great condition as described. High floor looking over Lake Michigan. Absolute gorgeous view on a cold wintry day in Chicago. Girlfriend and I woke up at about 9 AM and we sat on the couch ordered room service and truly enjoyed the view until 2 PM. You may ask yourself - 2 PM? We are having such a good time sitting and talking that I called the front desk and asked him for a late checkout, and they were very accommodating and gave us until two with no additional charges. It will be one of the best memories I have with her.|The only negative thing I could think of and it’s really not negative. But I wish they had robes for the room in which we could’ve gotten into and relaxed. Instead, we took the down comforter off the bed and wrapped ourselves in it on the couch looking over Lake Michigan for hours.|The staff was very accommodating and understanding from the point of checking in to the checking out along with the room service that we conducted. Very thorough. |Highly suggest this hotel if staying around on the near southside

Was here for 4 nights for a conference being held next door. Good experience overall.

Check in was fast and efficient. Friendly staff who ensured we knew where we were going which was great.

I appreciated multiple elevator banks which were based on floor groupings. This reduced wait times and made getting around quicker.

Rooms were large and clean. Didn't hear much sound transfer from the hall or other rooms nearby. Bed was comfortable but the pillows got quite flat quickly. I rotated them each night to try and solve for that. I liked that there were views of the lake.

Didn't leverage room service so cannot comment on that feature.

I did use the main takeaway counter in the mornings before the conference. Staff there were really nice and attentive. Good coffee which helped kick start the day in a positive way.

Location was convenient for what I needed. There were quite a few restaurants nearby and of course being attached to the conference facility next door was helpful. The one "negative" comment is I wish there was easier way finding around the facility. There were maps but they could use some improvements to make them more helpful.

Positive experience overall. Would definitely stay here again.

Came here for a conference. Large beautiful rooms. Nice bathroom. I didn’t appreciate housekeeping barging into my room at 6pm, while I was taking a nap, despite it not being 3 days without service. At least she brought more towels and free waters.

Only downside of the room is that you can hear the foot traffic as soon as they get off the elevator and noise from other floors. It made me a bit paranoid at night as solo female traveler.

Took off a star because it seems like all of the food court workers had attitudes. The Hispanic lady at the illy coffee shop was rude. The worker at the pizza shop was on her phone and unresponsive. I went to the Starbucks in the Hilton across the street instead. Much better service and faster.

There is a police trap near the parking garage. The garage is blocked off after a certain time and the police will pull you over while trying to find the entrance/a way to get in
