Love this place. Feels like home. Calftown Coffeehouse is a community staple. I have been a regular here for the past year, but it feels like longer.

Margarita is one of the friendliest people to walk the earth. Bill knows a ton of interesting local history. They both are extraordinarily compassionate and have keen senses of humor. Their passion for what they do is evident.

Their open mics at 7 pm on the first and third (and fifth) Thursday of each month is family-friendly and the audience is consistently the most welcoming and respectful I have ever seen. Travis Hoffman, a local musician and co-host of the podcast Wild Quincy, runs the sound and performance area. He also performs covers and originals. He hosts open mic with grace and flexibility. If you love music, poetry, and comedy, but don't want to go to a bar to experience it, this is where you want to be. I tend to feel a renewal of spirit at open mic. Sometimes I perform, and sometimes I just sit and enjoy while sipping tea or crocheting something. It's a wholesome, peaceful vibe.

They have vegetarian options as well as gluten-free options for sandwiches and wraps. Occasionally, Bill makes gluten-free pastries. I had a piece of gluten-free coffee cake there that was perfect.

They display and sell paintings, books, and artisan goods from local creators. Margarita can tell you anything you want to know about every piece on their walls and shelves.

If the State Street Theater is open for an event, Calftown usually is, too.

Check 'em out! They got awarded 2024 business of the year for plenty of good reasons!

My overall grade for Calftown Coffeehouse is: A-

The service is terrific & the owner is very nice.

Atmosphere is great. Old vinyls can be played upon request.

We weren’t looking for a diner experience with tons of food and this place and its selection of breakfast sandwiches is just the spot.

Coffee is very good.

They don’t have an actual kitchen so they bake the eggs and cut them to size for sandwiches.

If they had an electric burner to fry eggs to order, I would give them an A.

But this is a great place to have a quiet breakfast when you’re not horribly hungry for diners.

Seek this place out. You will enjoy

Amazing coffee, I had an iced mocha and it was the best I’ve had in a long time! Food was amazing and it was super kid friendly. I couldn’t believe they weren’t busier when we were there. Very cozy vibe. Will be back!

A must-visit for locals and visitors. These sandwiches stay together through the first and last bites. Bold, delicious, local coffee is available. This local spot will have you savoring every bite. The setting is full of character; it features a warm and inviting environment to those who wish to meet with friends, colleagues, or both. The rear entrance and off-street parking make it easy to stick around for a second cup, and it seems the entire venue is handicap accessible.

Tried several of the sandwiches....the sandwiches are very good. So far I've tried the Italian, Egg/Cheese, and Turkey Pesto. Turkey Pesto was the winner by far. Purple Cow coffee is my favorite on the coffee side.

The atmosphere is also great: combination of tables/chairs and couches, free WiFi, and friendly staff. Looking forward to coming back with a good book!

Calftown Coffeehouse is such a treasure tucked away in a historic German district in Quincy. The cafe is filled with eclectic 1950s - 1970s furniture in bright asthetically cohesive colors. Your seating options range from vintage kitchen table and chair sets to comfy mid century couches. The atmosphere alone makes this the perfect place to meet up with friends or colleagues, work on your laptop, or just read a book.

The food is equally as pleasing. Drinks include coffee and tea options and food varies with light meal options like sandwiches and salads. The homemade cookies are absolutely to die for and I'm pretty sure they're made fresh every single day.

The coffeehouse also features books for sale from local authors and there are a few small Waldorf-type toys to keep the kiddos busy. They have events including open mic nights and special exhibits/speakers- which is such a nice treat to find in a small city like Quincy.

What really makes this cafe shine though, is the unbelievable customer service. Always friendly, welcoming, truly giving a feel of "anyone is welcome here". It's quiet, quaint, calm- everything a busy work-from-home mom dreams of in a public workspace. What draws me here over and over again is the fact that they truly make a point to make every customer feel welcome. I'm just so happy a place like this came to Quincy. They are, in my opinion, one of the best eateries in town.
