Our stay at The Retreat @ Styx River was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, Nancy, the site manager, made us feel like family. Despite the campground being fully booked, she went above and beyond to find a spot for me and my two boys. Her warm hospitality and accommodating nature truly set the tone for our entire stay. The location itself is beautiful, nestled along the serene Styx River. The natural beauty of the area provided the perfect backdrop for a memorable camping experience. My boys had an absolute blast! They spent their day swimming, playing ball, and enjoying the water slide. The campground offers a variety of activities that kept them entertained and happy throughout our stay.
Camping at The Retreat @ Styx River was a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The peaceful surroundings, combined with the excellent facilities and the awesome site manager, made it a perfect destination for families. We can’t wait to return and create more cherished memories. Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a FABULOUS stay here. We booked a short weekend trip in the cabin. It’s a very beautiful space, inside and out. I was pleasantly surprised at how close the river is. There are multiple access points to the river. Nancy was friendly and informative. We appreciate that we can buy wood on site! Everyone was respectful and quiet during the night. We are happy this place is pet friendly!

Our group from the Gulf Coast Land Rover Club booked this campground as a home base for our 4 day off roading event at Grand River Motorsports. Nancy, our camp manager was very nice and accommodating! Answered every question we had and was always available when we needed her, Thank You Nancy!! The campground has a covered porch with patio tables, sink and grills to cook at that was perfect for all of our meetings. Also a large playground with a bouncy house and blow up waterside that the kids enjoyed all weekend. Bathrooms/ showers were clean and had plug in heaters for those chilly mornings. Some of us camped in tents right next to the river, great spots with picnic tables, fire pits, water, electric and garbage can. We had some in RVs, tiny cabins, boondock cabins and the glamping tents. All accommodations were wonderful! Really enjoyed the Hangout location at the top of the hill. Had a nice sized fire pit and huge well lit pavilion with enough tables and seating to host our dinner and awards ceremony. This campground is the perfect getaway for a family and/or small group like us that wanted accommodations close to our event nearby. Hope to book this place again!

My girlfriend and I are on our bi-annual spontaneous camping road trip, we pack the car and head out without any direction or plans, we figure it all out along the way. Our adventure brought us to The Retreat and we are so happy it did. From the moment I talked with Nancy on the phone I knew it was going to be super laid back. She checked us in as if we were staying at the Ritz Carlton, she told us everything there was to do and Randy was awesome as well. Extremely friendly and welcoming.
We did tent camping with power and water and it was well worth it. Our campsite had plenty of trees to hang the hammocks, was super close to the Styx river that this time of year is incredibly refreshing. The showers and bathrooms were super clean, to be honest the entire place is EXTREMELY well kept.
Thank you for helping us have a super relaxing 2 night stay!!

This was a diamond in the rough campground. We found this place by the grace of God as we were running from hurricane Helene and came across this RV campground. Absolutely beautiful setting. Very quiet. Very nice river on the property. Playground for the kids. Nice sites. Manager and workers are very nice and welcoming. Will be back for a longer stay.

I traveled from MS for a day pass and to use their river access. Even if I wasn't using their amenities, restrooms, play areas etc..., $10 was a good deal. They have a dedicated area for day trippers to park and relax. Unfortunately I didn't really get a chance to try my kayak. The current was so strong from all the recent rain, I gave up. It started to thunderstorm also so I'll just go with that excuse. As such I just hangout for awhile, using the picnic areas to read and rest until the brewery nearby opened. The camp grounds looked good. Everything was clean and free of trash and debris. Staff was friendly and helpful. It wasn't full but lots didn't appear to be too close together. I only saw a handful of spots on/near the riverbank though. Worth a detour or stay.

We are from Pensacola and were thrilled to find an RV park that includes tent sites with water and electricity. The Retreat is a super easy drive from Pensacola. The manager, Nancy, is a wonderful host and keeps things running smoothly. She was very flexible and gave us options for us to find just the right spot to set up camp. We loved the pretty grassy areas, fun playground for the kids (including a jumpy castle), and the wooded pavilions were a great place to ride out the rain storm! At night, the trees are lit up with twinkle lights and it is so pretty! The bathrooms were very clean. We were fortunate the campground was not packed, because with only 4 toliets and 2 showers, it could be a problem. Many of the tent site areas are very close together. If there had been more people there, it would be too close for comfort for me! Overall, we enjoyed our stay. It was peaceful and relaxing-which is always our main reason for camping.
