Really accommodating and friendly staff plus so up to date that there are usb-c outlets in the rooms. Great property for any family visiting Starved Rock! We made a mistake in our booking and called the hotel to see what they could do to help us out… one of the best customer service experiences we’ve had recently! Rooms were very recently redone and were very clean and modern.

Stayed in March2025. Rooms were clean but a little dated. Pool was nice, but the hot tub is gone. Family liked the breakfast.

Updated, clean motel. Good breakfast with a variety of choices to eat. Very friendly clerks. Was disappointed that although they had a pool, it was not heated. Toddler grandson had been looking forward to swimming. Would have booked elsewhere had we known that the pool was not heated.

I can't say enough about how good our experience was at this property. The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was much better than most of the Hamptons which I would attribute to the woman in charge. It's been a long time since I've seen someone so attentive to keeping everything clean and fresh.

We realized later in the day after driving 5 hours that we had left our camera bag worth about $1,000 in the room. After checking our phone we found a voices mail from the manager that we missed because of phone issues on our end. When we finally connected she went above and beyond to get it shipped to us since we weren't coming back through the area. It's also worth acknowledging the housekeeping employee who turned it in.

Definitely stay here if you're in the area.

Common area downstairs seems to attract groups of party goers at night. Music full on etc.
Wife and myself had three encounters with anti-social behavior over two days. Staff intervened twice, quickly and effectively. The staff make this hotel. They seem to have to deal with some difficult clientele?
Desk staff especially good and very responsive.
Kitchen attendants did not converse at first, but did so once they realised that their hard work was appreciated. The breakfast was pretty good.
The rooms were ok, quite clean and not long refurbished?
I confess that I might aim for higher quality accommodation next time, if I can get it, but we would definitely stay there again.

Vortex 1.

Rooms photos on the website are a bit outdated. They’ve actually been remodeled(at-least the room we stayed in) are quite nice and clean. The one let down was that the hot tub that used to be here has been removed and filled in with bricks. So don’t look at the google photos it is no longer there.
