We had our wedding here. The food was delicious but they made the wrong item. The bar was supposed to be top shelf, it was not and we had to complain. They wouldn’t let us bring in the desserts we wanted. They suggested a time for the ceremony, which we relied upon them to know the good time, and the lighting was harsh for photos and the sun was beating down on our guests. The woman who booked us said it would be just us having a ceremony and reception on our day then some months later proceeded to let us know someone else was booked that day. We did get her to reschedule with them- but it was awful to deal with whilst trying to plan our wedding not to mention the guilt we felt for the other party. The big thing was that the rooms and reception hall were meant to be completely remodeled and upgraded BEFORE our ceremony and reception, they promised us this. We believed them because we booked with them over a year in advance. They made a big deal about this, showed us what our suite would look like even. They were not done. The remodeling and upgrade was the main reason we chose this place and a promise they made to us. We’ve heard it’s beautiful now but we did not get to enjoy that after being promised and also spending tens of thousands of dollars at this venue for our wedding. Lastly, we did like the champagne left in the room for us and the Sunday brunch was exquisite.

Stayed over the weekend for a staycation. The room was very nice and look exactly like the pictures. Room nice and clean which is rare with hotels lately for us. Great coffee shop that severs Starbucks coffee. Free parking! All the staff members that we encountered were extremely nice and accommodating!!

I did the afternoon holiday tea and it was not up to my expectations for the price. For $75 you get an assortment of small sandwiches, scones and other sweet treats, along with a pot of tea of your choice. The service was underwhelming and the staff was not very attentive. My tea pot had a crack in it which they failed to notice resulting in my table being covered in hot water and they did not notice until I pointed it out. They were not very apologetic. My waitress also managed to spill water on me as she was filling my glass. The food was good, not great for the price. Overall it was a nice experience but they could use a little work in the hospitality as this helps create the experience. The ambiance of the room was nice and the harp player was lovely.

James the doorkeeper elevated our experience at The Drake. His classiness, customer obsession, and attention to detail made the night and service stand out next to the rest. Great destination. This happened to be a singular night out, which will now lead to more nights spent there.

My dad and I had to come to the Oak Brook area for a funeral. We arrived early morning and explained our situation to the person at the front desk--Michael I believe his name was. He was very sympathetic and understood. He helped us check in and get some rest before the service. He also upgraded our room so my elderly father would be more comfortable. Later, after we returned from the cemetery and warmed up for a few minutes (it was incredibly cold out), someone knocked on our door with a complimentary charcuterie tray and a handwritten note expressing the hotel's sympathies for our loss. I have to say, the Drake went above and beyond in helping us with our family's loss, making it a little easier for us. I would definitely stay here again!

Checkin- young lady that checked me in did not go through amentities, packages (that i paid $800+), or property map. I had to ask for direction to the NYE event details. I had to book 2 nights stay individually b/c of the NYE package, which was fine. But the young lady failed to go over the full stay for both days & i wasnt reminded about my $60 breakfast credit until 9p the day before checkout. I ended up having to order breakfast in room & they charged a $20 service fee, which shouldve been comped due to the failure to go over the package at checkin. The menu for room service is built into the tv but the breakfast menu wouldnt populate. I stumbled across a menu online for the hotel & asled the front desk if it was accurate & they said yes. It was indeed not accurate & prices were all about $3-5 more per item, which i discovered after placing my order. Additionally, the new yrs eve dinner & brunch menus were not displayed or provided before, during or after purchasing your packages and i had to ask several times to even get a copy once I arrived & checked in. Some of the front desk workers seemed to have stale taste in their voice as if you were bothering them. When it was actually more of an inconvenience to me to even be calling about these things.||Room: the heat was terrible. The vent, thermostat & return vent are all next to each other. So the the temperatures read inaccurately. We had to keep the heat on 82 to get the room warm otherwise the air was cool coming out. The robes that they have (only provided 1 even though we had 2 registered guests) are not plus size friendly, nor did they have an alternative option. Slippers were not provided either. The ice bucket was terrible. Ice melted before you even got back to the room.||Additionally after all the back & forth about the $60 breakfast credit that I confirmed was on the account PRIOR to ordering room service. I also confirmed with front desk & the restaurant that the credit was redeemable in room. They still charged my credit card full price for the room service. ||I did speak with a manager about my stay & outside of refunding me the breakfast charge. His response just seemed to be more along the lines of "thank you for letting us know" and that's about it. We had a lot of options for places to stay & ring in the new year & I'm a bit disappointed at my overall experience here.

My room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, offering all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated the quiet environment that allowed for a peaceful night’s sleep. The on-site dining was excellent, with a delicious breakfast to start the day and a wonderful selection of cocktails in the evening. The hotel’s location is also convenient, with plenty of shopping and dining options nearby. Overall, The Drake Hotel provided a fantastic birthday getaway, and I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing, luxurious stay in Oakbrook!

We enjoyed our stay The Drake Oak Brook. I had arranged for a couple of packages to be delivered to the hotel. I accidentally left a package behind, and had to ask the hotel to arrange to send it to me in Canada. Kristle was a fabulous help and made sure the package got to me undamaged. Excellent customer service.
