Pros: Generally a fantastic hotel and wonderful attentive staff. Clean, quiet rooms. Excellent location. Great spa.

Cons: Brass Tack consistently disappoints for dinner. Breakfast/brunch is always good, but dinner service is lacking. We’ve always had subpar bar service and dinner waitstaff that doesn’t seem to care and the menu is average for The Waldorf. Quite disappointing.

Locker room access and amenities are no longer included with a room. An extra $75/day per person. HUGE disappointment as this has always been a deciding factor over other hotel choices. Makes other properties more enticing.

4 stars overall due to average (at best) Brass Tack dinner service and restricted locker room access for the pool and fitness center.

From the time I pulled on the lot of 11 E. Walton St to the time that I pulled off, I had a remarkable experience! I stay here a couple of times a year when I visit Chicago because the hospitality of each and every person I encounter is unmatched! From valet parking my car with Alonzo and taking the complimentary car with Giuermo (sp?) within a 1-mile radius to my brunch spot on Sunday to working with Deondre, Pai and Charles on my reservation and receiving some amazing recommendations from Concierge Logan, I always leave here feeling refreshed and relaxed! Brass Tack and Bernard's is also a vibe in the hotel! Next time you are in Chicago, definitely consider staying here! It is well worth it!

Everyone who works here is extremely courteous and professional. Great staff!
Rooms are very clean! No evidence of mold. Housekeeping deserves a gold star!
Gym is fully equipped, and the cleanest hotel gym you’ll ever see. They are consistently making sure it’s clean.

Unfortunately, the hotel uses a lot of air freshener throughout the entire building! If you have environmental sensitivities, are prone to headaches, have small children, or have allergies this might not be the hotel for you. Chemistry created smells can wreak havoc on the body.
Also, skip the breakfast, there are much better options nearby.

My check-in experience at the Waldorf Astoria Chicago was disappointing and lacked the warm welcome I expected. I booked my stay through Fine Hotels & Resorts (FHR) and am also a Hilton Diamond member. Upon check-in, I inquired about an upgrade and was initially given vague responses with the implication that complimentary upgrades were not the norm. Frankly, I felt like I was being solicited for a gratuity in exchange for an upgrade. After reviewing the FHR amenities, the attendant gave the long computer stare tactic. The only option presented was a handicap-accessible room, which I declined.||||Throughout my three-night stay, the Hilton app consistently showed higher-category rooms available, yet no upgrade was offered. Additionally, I was disappointed to learn that my Diamond benefits were not honored since I booked through FHR despite the Hilton app indicating otherwise. Since I couldn’t use the FHR-specific $60 daily breakfast credit, I requested to substitute it with the Diamond benefit of a $50 daily credit, but this was met with a firm refusal. Only after I replied to my Diamond welcome text did they agree, begrudgingly, to make a one-time exception for the credit swap, but the upgrade situation remained unchanged.||||Having stayed at other Waldorf Astoria properties, I’ve experienced far more seamless and accommodating service, including pre-arrival upgrades and the automatic combination of FHR and Diamond benefits. Unfortunately, that was not the case here.||||On a positive note, the hotel itself is beautiful, modern, and well-appointed with luxurious amenities. However, the lack of hospitality and the dismissive attitude toward a loyal Hilton Diamond guest left a lasting negative impression. While I enjoyed the property itself, I would be unlikely to return given the lackluster service. With so many luxury properties to choose from in Chicago, I would seek other options that provide a more welcoming and rewarding experience.

Went there for quick lunch. Good was tasty and presentable. Service was great. I didn’t stay in the hotel but had a tour there and checked the rooms. Rooms are spacious and beautiful with good views. Location is pretty good with walking distance to most of attractions (around 30 mins walk).

My wife and I stayed at the WA-Chicago overnight to celebrate her birthday. I must say that from the time we arrived to the time we checked out, we'd been nothing but impressed. Each staff member, whether it was valet attendants, bellmen, front desk receptionists, or housekeeping, were hospitable, greeted us warmly, and were eager to tend to anything that we might have needed. The rooms were very clean and very nicely designed. We definitely enjoyed our stay and will most likely be staying there again in the not-too-distant future. And with that, a very very special thanks goes to Logan from concierge! When some things that I had planned did not come through, she went above and beyond, stepped in at the last minute and helped me put some things together for the room, which my wife is still smiling about. Not only that, her professionalism, kindness, and spirit of excellence was evident from first contact. She is definitely a wonderful asset to that establishment. Thanks again WA-Chicago for a great experience!

This review is a few months late. Our stay was absolutely incredible! The room was perfection, staff was absolutely amazing! Room service was prompt and the food was delicious! The fitness center was spacious and clean!

We received drop off services to nearby tourist attractions. We visited in November, so it was cold, and the drop off services were super convenient. Sheryl was super accommodating and well informed regarding the city!
