The pictures featured on the website and in the Lake Geneva visitor guide do not show how rundown this place actually is for the prices there are charging. Dog friendly or not, its awful. The only nice this is the location and the pier on the lake. Do not believe its been remodeled, cleaned or otherwise from a super Air b-n-b host. They need to actually hire a person to do maintenance, including yard work.

We spent 2 nights here over the 4th of July, when Lake Geneva is a madhouse. Eleven Gables was quiet and just a couple of blocks from all the hordes of tourists, sooo convenient for walking to the downtown and the Lake Shore path. We were able to park the car and not worry about finding parking downtown. We stayed in the Cottage out back of the main house with our dog, very pet friendly place. Lots of area to take the pup out. The inside of the Cottage was very quaint, like stepping back in time. Everything was very clean, comfortable bed, fantastic shower and water pressure, good wifi, we had no complaints. The landscaping outside could use some love, but I'm sure its a never ending job. One of the best perks, is the pier out front of house, guests can use it. It was heavenly to sit out here in the evening and enjoy the lake. Gary, the proprietor was great, a true dog lover, his pup was awesome. We would stay again for sure.

We try to stay at Eleven Gables at least once a year with our family and dog! It's a wonderful place with an amazing pier and views of the lake. It also is a great location right near downtown within walking distance to everything. Our dog has so much fun and the owner is very accommodating of her. The owner is also really generous in sharing his tips about Lake Geneva.
Loved the room, location, pier, and lake! Overall, it's family and dog friendly and had a nice lake house vibe!

We chose Eleven Gables Inn for a 30th birthday celebration at Lake Geneva last weekend. It was a perfect choice for our group of family and friends and two pups. The Inn includes several rooms in the main building plus two multi-room suites in a separate building behind the main house. The structures are old and well-kept and charming. Gary showed us around and made sure we had everything we needed and then he left us alone with instructions to call if we needed anything. The rooms had all the necessities and were clean and comfortably appointed. As others have noted, the shower valves are reversed for H/C but there was lots of hot water. The bed in the Courtyard room was very comfy and others in the Cottage and Ice House loved the unique and historical charm of the surroundings. Note that this is an older building in a lovely wooded, corner lot near the lake. There is not as much natural light as modern wall-to-wall windows and there will be an occasional bug that makes it way in. But it is a perfect location a couple blocks from downtown and just enough away from the busier areas but close to everything. If you need multiple outlets, USB ports, fancy coffee makers and ice machines, etc, this may not be the best choice. But if you want a quiet, charming inn with wonderful history with a beautiful private pier for sunsets and space to spread out with a group, I highly recommend you speak to Gary and make plans. Whether 2 of us or 12, will definitely stay there again when we visit Lake Geneva. If you want new and modern, then choose another spot.

Eleven Gables is the best dog friendly spot on Lake Geneva. The location is great with walking distance to downtown, the pier is right across the street it's a great place if your dog likes to swim. It is a quiet spot with old school lake Geneva charm.

we stayed at eleven gables from June 30 - July 5. we had a great time. Gary was a great host! We took our 2 dogs and everything worked out perfect. We stayed in the Wicker room and had a private entrance and patio. It was very clean and neat. We were able to walk everywhere or ride our bicycles. The Inn is located right on the lake. So beautiful. The weather was wonderful the whole time we were there. Lake Geneva is dog friendly and people are very respectful with their dogs or even if you don't have a dog. Lots of great restaurants and shops. Boat tours around the lake and many things to do. We loved Simple Bakery and restaurant and Sprechers. Thank you so much for the perfect
vacation, Gary!!!!! We will be back!

Friendly proprietor however…
You are paying for the location. A complete update really is necessary, for the cottage at least. The mattresses and pillows are abysmal. I did not get a wink of sleep. Cleanliness- there were long black hairs on the sheets, the mug had what looked like lipstick marks, and I was definitely reluctant to let my dogs lie on the throw rug. The fire alarm started going off at 7:20am. Needless to say, I checked out a day early. But the location is excellent.

This is a dog friendly property, which is the main reason why we chose Eleven Gables. Great location. You can walk to everything. The outdoor portion of the property was well kept, and the private pier was excellent. The lower level room was very dated. Most of the lights in the room weren't working. The shower head sprayed water everywhere and the blankets felt old and dirty. The host was awesome! Very friendly guy who loves dogs. He helped us find some nice places to visit. If the interior was updated and cleaner this would be 5 stars. So much potential!
