Joined a few months ago. The gym is always clean and the front desk people are polite. If only people would come to work out and not sit on the equipment. Reading, playing on their phones, or just resting LOL. So now I come very early to get in and out quickly. I wish they would get an app for our phones so we would not have to carry the ID card.

Beautiful facility. However, I wish they had higher expectations of the staff. Although there is only one staff member I've come in contact with who is mean, unwelcoming and rude, she ruins the overall rating. Other than that, it's a nice place.

My 5 stars are for Alex Brown, Tyrone & CeCe ONLY. LOL. If not for them a lot of people probably wouldn't come here. Just being honest. The elder staff make it a very unwelcoming place!!!! Like it's there own personal living rooms and they don't want no one in it 😂🤦🏾‍♂️

Front desk staff this morning (March 2024) was very rude and unprofessional. I mistakenly brought my old gym ID which showed deactivated. The woman at the front asked me to verify my name, which I did. She told me that my membership was invalid. I apologized and explained what happened and that I had gotten a replacement. She would not allow me access. I asked her if she can verify it by looking me up and she became hostile making many noises of discomfort and distraught. I then told her "hey, it's ok. We're going to be positive and have a great day because hey, it's an honest mistake. Let's just please look me up" she began to huff and puff and gripe about a simple task. I was more polite than she actually deserved. It made me extremely uncomfortable. I came here to workout and de-stress. Why are you so angry this morning lady? Seriously, quit if you're so inconvenienced! You are the reasone machines are replacing humans now. Bad customer service 😑 😒

Edit: As of May 2024 this person makes sure to be the ONLY staff to make sure to purse her lips to not extend any greetings to just me. 😕 All the other staff have been pleasant.

If I could give no stars I would. I feel that the community center is very unorganized. My son and I both have memberships. I brought my son here this morning to play basketball and the gym was not open. I spoke with the manger I believe her name was Liz or Lisa. She informed me about the schedule online that changed weekly. Ok, so I come back around 5pm according to the schedule the gym should be open. I was told it would be open today according to the posted schedule. I do not live in matteson, so I pay the extra fees and travel about 45mins to come here. We come back and the gym is closed. I was gonna swim while they were playing basketball, but the pool had a class. It is very unfortunate that it is so chaotic when I am paying my money to use amenities that are not available when they should be open.

I was impressed by the cleanliness, work out equipment, pool, and overall ambiance. The elevators have not been in service since October 2022! I believe that should be prioritized because stairs are steep and people with mobility difficulties will not be able to enjoy the full facility! Also, prices are a bit steep for Matteson’s residents who pay High property taxes!
