Newly renovated property that has recently opened. Beautiful furniture and appointments. Great bed and linens. They still have a few tiny kinks to work out but any glitch is addressed immediately. Hot Breakfast was outstanding, comparable to other hotel option in immediate area. Management was responsive. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Everything was sparkling clean. I will definitely be back!

Had a Pleasure of staying at this location for a day. Front desk staff was very polite. Hotel was very clean and peaceful. Didn’t get a chance to check out the free breakfast but I’m pretty sure that was good as well. Only down fall was the pool wasn’t open yet. Definitely will stay at this location again. Also its right off the highway and close to stores and restaurants.

Everything was great from check in to check out. Staff were incredibly friendly and always available. Breakfast was really good with a rotating menu. Comfortable rooms that appeared to be recently updated. I work nights and had no problems getting as much sleep as I needed during the day as the halls were very quiet. I would absolutely stay here again.

The area was quiet. The weather was so cold it made the front doors not to work automatically. The front desk representative Torri P. was great . Very inviting and cares about the work she does. She made me feel like I knew someone at this location. If she is there I would definitely return. They had enough towels in the room didn’t seem like they were hiding them and the bed was comfortable and room was clean.

It all started out to be a very good visit, unfortunately the communication from the front desk associate and the narcissism of the General Manager who I won’t name on here turned it into a disaster of a stay.

Let’s start out with check in. I was staying with points and cash. I was told I could have IHG At check in I was told I would need a credit card/debit card on file, but said nothing would be charged. When I got to my room I had a charge for 75 which is outrageous but ok it is what it is. This is where the next day takes a turn for the worst.

I was just getting out of the shower when I hear a knock at the door “hello?” I said I was advised I got a late check out at 12. I had a towel literally around me, when I hear male voice say hello as he tries to enter my room. I had to yell I have the room until 12:00 and he proceeds to leave and says nothing.

I go down to check out and said who was the person who was trying to gain access to my room? The same clerk from the day before who checked me in says I’m not sure, when the general manager storms up to the desk and says I was the one, but blatantly lied and said he wasn’t trying to enter my room. I said yeah you did the noise the lock makes when you touch the card keys made the same exact noise as it does when you enter a room. He lied and denied any wrongdoing. I wasn’t going to argue with this narcissist person. I know what happened and he was trying to cover his ass! Then comes checkout. Tried to tell me he can’t give me a copy of my bill. I stood there until finally I got it.

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a Holiday Inn and I don’t t have many at all. Most times are flawless as I thought this would be, but it turned out to be a different situation. When I worked in hotels and hospitality there was absolutely no tolerance for this kind of behavior. I guess things changed. You put a GM in charge of a hotel that lies.

The only good thing about my stay was the interaction with housekeepers and the way my room looked. I have contacted corporate.

Huge thanks to the Holiday Inn Express Matteson, Illinois for the perfect stay. This property was everything I expect from a Holiday Inn Express- clean, quiet and with a friendly and caring staff.||Within minutes, Jennifer had us in our rooms, with a couple laughs (she was terrific). ||The Matteson Holiday Inn Express was easy on/off the highway and only took us 35 min to drive to/from the city for evening work.||Next morning, great workout (with water bottle refill station...highly underrated) and breakfast before getting back on the road. ||Next time I'm working in Chicago, know where I'm staying.||Thanks for a terrific stay.||#SocialMediaPromo #socialmediainfluencer #holidayinnexpress #matteson #Illinois #holidayinnexpressmatteson

My wife and I stayed here on a road trip the day after they opened from renovations, and were very satisfied with our experience.

Rooms: Fairly standard experience for a Holiday Inn Express. Comfortable bed, nice hot shower, standard amenities. Wifi was fast but a little unreliable at times. There's a few signs the building is a bit dated, like the old slow elevator or thin walls, but otherwise it feels like a brand new Holiday Inn Express. Obviously everything was very clean as I expect we were the first people to stay in the room since the renovation.

Service: Everyone was very friendly and professional. Check-in took a little longer than normal because there was some problems with their system, but I expect that's because they just opened and are still figuring everything out. The concierge and the manager worked quickly to solve that issue and after that everything went smoothly.

Location: Absolutely ideal for someone on a road trip. It felt safe, was close to major highways through Chicago, and had tons of places to eat around the hotel, including a Giordano's for some classic Chicago deep dish. If you're just passing through Chicago and don't intend to actually explore the city at all, this place is ideal.

First, I would like to say the staff on duty (one young lady) was fantastic given what she had to handle on her own - she needs a bonus for working Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning. My room had been assigned before she arrived for her shift and, my guess is, no one ever checked the room. There was a tv on one of the beds and it appeared they were storing drinks in that room. So, we were moved to another room. However, only her master key worked once to let us into that room. So, we had to moved AGAIN. Finally settled in after an hour and turned on the TV only to find there were only a few channels available. Got ready to leave the next afternoon and something told me to check the key - it didn't work. Had to wait almost 30 minutes for the front desk to program a new key due to their system acting up. I understand that they have only been at this location for a month, so I hope things improve.
