Lost Trail Cabins is a beautiful place. The cabins are secluded, clean and well maintained. The pond is full of bass, I mean every cast full! The grounds are immaculate and there is wildlife everywhere. The cabin was very comfortable and clean, TV and Wifi worked great and the kitchen had everything I needed to prepare a nice meal. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Excellent stay!! Came from Chicago for my husbands birthday. He really wanted to visit Scratch brewery and because there is not much around, I had no idea where we would stay. Found Lost Trail Cabin and very happy we did! When we pulled in, we were a little skeptical as it literally is hidden far back in the middle of no where but we were so pleasantly surprised! Was greeted with some very friendly, laid back owners at check in and the cabin was so clean and cute!! We were able to bring the dog and she very much enjoyed the open peaceful land as much as we did! We grabbed a couple snacks for our two day trip and having the stove and large refrigerator was perfect! We were just in the right location for Scratch, a couple other brewery’s and a awesome adventures hiking trail ( Piney Creek). If ever in the area again, will definitely be back!!

My hisband and I ame here for a weekend stay for our Anniversary and we had a wonderful time! The cabins are beautiful, cozy and immaculant! I am very picky when it comes to overnight stays and cleanliness and was very very satisfied. The hiking trail was amazing! A lot of neat attractions within minutes away espically for the outdoor enthusiast. Our children would have loved it as well! We would highly recommend this place to anyone!!

My husband and I stayed at Lost Trail Cabins in August 2018. The cabins were very clean and comfortable. We also had family staying at the cabin next to use and they also loved the cabin. We did some hiking, that was close. The trail wasn't as well maintained as those maintained by the park service, but it was nice and had some great features (small water pool, exposed basalt ridge, etc.). There was lots of poison ivy, so dress accordingly and wear bug spray. We went into downtown Ava and ate lunch at Gabby's. We were able to sit in the courtyard, which was lovely. The food was typical bar/pub fare but was very good. We also went to Scratch Brewery and thought it was just a really fun, little gem. The setting was lovely and the beer wonderful. They do have a limited menu - we had a wood fired pizza and the bread with a goat cheese/honey spread - all made in their wood fired oven. Lovely way to spend a few hours. As there are many plants in the outdoor area it would be good to wear bug spray to Scratch Brewery.||||||Barb and Ken, the cabin owners, were fun to talk with and had some great tips. They let us borrow their large charcoal grill, which was very nice to use. I am not sure if a grill is always available, so if you want to grill it might be good to check or bring your own. ||||||The loft area of the cabin was a nice size and would be a great place to spend time if the weather was not good. There are two beds up there (full size and a day bed), but no table. The table on the main floor seats two easily, but it would be difficult for 6 people to eat in the cabin. Our cabin had a four top picnic table while the other had a regular picnic table (both outside). Bringing a folding table might be nice, if you want a bit more table space.||||||The Direct TV and wi-fi were also very nice. The guys were able to watch the Cardinals game and I was able to read my on-line papers. ||||||For what we wanted to do, the location was ideal.

The cabins are settled on a beautiful sight. They are immaculate (and I am very critical about cleanliness!), comfortable and have plenty of space for a family. The kitchen has most of what you would need for meals including a full size stove, microwave, double sink, and refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker and basic pots, pans and service ware. The beds were small but very comfortable. The bathroom had a corner shower making best use of the space and the towels were extremely soft! They are beautifully decorated (the floors are beautiful). The only comment I would make about the interior (which was not an issue for us but could be for some) is that the stairs to the loft are steep and tall and could be difficult to navigate for very small children or if your knees dont do stairs well already. The owners are very accommodating, providing anything I asked for. A fire pit, grill and picnic table are also provided. We walked the well marked trails and took lots of pictures. We plan to return soon because there was so much more to do and we just did not have time this trip. Thanks for the awesome experience!

Our family enjoyed our recent stay here. Our group ranged in age from 5 to 65 and everyone found activities to please, from trail and creek exploration, to fishing, to playing in the sprinklers. The cabin porch was the natural gathering place to plan the next adventure or just admire the view and relax. The cabin was spotless and tastefully decorated, as well as being comfortable and surprisingly roomy. The bathroom was supplied with beautiful, pure white, fluffy towels. We like to cook when we travel and the kitchen was well stocked. Our hosts were informative and helpful in any way we requested. We are planning to revisit this lovely place soon.

Ken and Barb went above and beyond to make our stay the best it could be. The location is peaceful and beautiful, I loved sitting on the porch every morning with my coffee just enjoying the view.

Very nice cabins! I stayed in the second one (brown roof?) We had about 7 girls in there. So it was pretty cramped bc they are small. Be careful on the stairs! Very steep. The driveway is long and FULL of pot holes with lots of hills. Nice people! They have huge German Shepard dogs greeting you when you check in at their home. I wasn't a fan of that bc I'm scared of dogs🤷🏼‍♀️
