We loved Jail Hill Inn! The food is incredible and has well thought out pairings! The evening food trays are fabulous! The room we stayed in (402) was extremely clean, beautiful decor and has a comfy bed! Very high end furnishings and attention to every detail. Matthew is an amazing host and is very personable. We will be back!

From the moment you enter the front door of the Jail Hill Inn greeted by an exceptional host, ready to please at every turn, you are transported into a world of luxury.|We haven't stopped talking about our visit Sept. 2024. Our visit was nothing less than luxurious and pampered. With Matthew who is the most personable and dedicated host willing to please at every turn, he is also very knowledgeable about the area, restaurants and the like.|The whole experience of staying here is incredible! There is nothing we've experienced elsewhere that can compare. One night we even had the experience of deer outside the window of our suite which was a pleasant surprise!|From the champagne and chocolates waiting upon arrival to the charcuterie and wine that arrives shortly thereafter to your luxurious suite that is exquisitely decorated Matthew has thought of everything! |Waking up in the morning to freshly brewed coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice followed by a 3 course breakfast is the perfect way to get your day started in the inviting and beautifully decorated dining room.|If you are thinking about booking a suite for that special occasion or just to get away, don't hesitate, you won't be disappointed! We are planning a visit for our 50th wedding anniversary in 2026. I can't think of anywhere else I'd want to be.|If only I could give 10 stars!!

Amazing stay from start to finish! This was our first time staying here. We came to celebrate my wife's birthday and it sure was a birthday to remember. The room, snacks, treats, breakfast, and all the extra details were wonderful. Thank you, Matthew for all your thoughtfulness, kindness, and hard work into making our stay so memorable! We can't wait to be repeat offenders!

We had a great stay at the Inn! Quiet, comfortable, beautiful large room with a beautiful bathroom and great shower. Warm hospitality and delicious food for breakfast and late afternoon snacks. Loved the tray of all the goodies. So convenient for strolling Galena, exploring the area, and relaxing. Hope to return soon!

We stayed in suite 202 and we absolutely loved every single minute. The room, the Inn, the breakfast and afternoon snack tray. Everything was perfection. Matthew is an excellent host and we loved chatting with him each day. The Inn was still decorated for Christmas and it was gorgeous. 10/10 recommend. We enjoyed being at the Inn, relaxing in front of the fireplace more than anything else!

This was the best hotel / BB I have ever been to!! The hubby and I had a weekend away and it was everything we could’ve asked for and more. From the big Jacuzzi bathtub to the comfy, cozy, bedding, and pillows. Matthew made sure every detail of our stay was perfect and not to mention the food was phenomenal. We cannot wait to go back.

This place is amazing! The website does not do it justice. It is so much better. The Inn keeper Mathew's job is to make this stay at the Inn the best experience you ever had at an Inn (B&B). Believe me he is very good at his job. The Inn is very clean and the history is within the whole Inn when it was a jail. When you arrive in your suite a bottle of Champagne and Chocolates from Europe will be waiting for you. Then around 4 pm the snack tray comes. What can I say about that but it is AMAZING!! It is a bottle of wine, cheese, sausage, crackers, fruit, cookies, nuts, skewers, a plate of cracker sandwiches. It is enough that you don't have to worry about going out to dinner. Then lets talk about that 3 coarse breakfast! It is so Delightful and Amazing I can't even tell you about it. Something I have never had before. You will never leave this Inn hungry just can't happen. We will be coming back soon. Hope this helps

Well the website for the Jail Hill INN does not do it justice. It is far better than can be imagined. To begin with it was a Jailhouse up till 1977. So with that being said when they renovated they kept some of that history in the renovation. The Inn Keeper Mathew will go out of his way to pamper and give you the best experience you can possibly have with your stay. Let me tell you he is good at his job. To begin with these are not normal B&B rooms they are suites. There are 6 of them and they are beautifully laid out and decorated. Upon your arrival there will be a bottle of Champagne and Chocolates from Europe awaiting in your suite for you. Around 4 pm a bottle of wine and an appetizer tray is delivered to your suite. On that tray will be fruit, nuts, cheese, sausage, crackers, olives, skewers, something on a bagel crisp of sorts, and cookies. It changes day to day.It was enough for us we did not even have to go out to dinner. For breakfast it is a 3 course meal. I have never had a breakfast that was so amazing. It starts with some sort of fruit dish, then you have some sort of bread, and the last but best a meat, egg, and whatever else dish. It is so filling we could barely eat it all. The breakfast also changes day to day. The location is a plus also within walking distance to downtown Galena, With all this being said if you want to pamper yourself this would be the place for you.
