Thousands of 🐞 ladybugs everywhere. Furnace smelled like rotten ass when it rumbled and fired up. TV didn't work and it was the only one in the cabin. The carbon monoxide detector started chirping 3 times every 45 seconds around 4am.. I had to unwire it using a chair in the kitchen for a ladder. I'd rather stayed in a ⛺️ tent and saved my $200. RATING SUCKS ASS!

Due to the negative reviews I saw, I was really anxious about staying at this establishment while I was in town for a wedding. However, I actually had a fantastic stay, and if I am in town again this is the place I will go! The staff was professional and nice, and it took no time to check in or check out!

Unable to book our soon to be one year old child's birthday party in the hall because we planned to set up hot wheels tracks. They said "insurance wouldn't cover it". Offered to let us set them up outside...on December 29th. Would not recommend, very unreasonable.

If you're looking for ease of access you can't do better than the Mariner's Village Resort on Carlyle Lake, IL.
You enjoy the hot b'fast with bacon, sausages and eggs. Rooms are clean, comfortable.
Having the outdoor pool means a great way to get off the street for an hour with your kids before dinner, get ready for a great night in one of the restaurant nearby.
We love it and have stayed here multiple times over the past several years.

Not bad, but not great either. For some reason, the beds and pillows had hairs on them- not sure from housekeeping, or someone prior. I brushed them off, and had no problems with the beds- pretty comfy actually. Bathroom was fine, but for some odd reason both the microwave and refrigerator were both unplugged. I plugged them in, and the next day the refrigerator started making a loud grinding noise, explaining why it was unplugged to begin with. It's a convenient location with the beach and lake within walking distance (I did walk to the beach once during my stay). The workers were friendly, but sadly thanks to some storms that moved through the pool was closed for a day to clean it up. It's good overall since it's close to what you're likely to go to for Carlyle Lake (beach, boat ramp, etc), but don't expect much. The breakfast was okay, it was bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, bananas, muffins, and juice/coffee. They do have a washer and dryer too if you need to do some laundry while there. I'll probably stay again knowing it's not going to be a perfect hotel, but I've seen worse too. I'd say overall it was average.

SO UNPROFESSIONAL!! My husband and I booked a suite room with a jacuzzi tub in advance. We put a card on file for the reservation a few days in advance and said we would pay in cash. Manager called the day before and said they would charge $50 for a deposit, which was fine. We said again we will pay the rest in cash when we arrive, which they confirmed was acceptable. They charged the same card later THE SAME DAY for the rest of the amount. We arrived the morning of our reservation for confirm it was paid in full and they gave us a receipt saying it was, and we enjoyed our day in Carlyle. When we returned, they tried telling us we didn't have a reservation at all because we called and cancelled it the day before, which we did not. We showed them the receipt they gave us THAT MORNING and they accepted it. We got to our room, and it did not have the jacuzzi tub we specifically requested when we first made the reservation. We immediately went back to the front desk and told them the room was wrong because we requested a jacuzzi suite. The manager said it must have been a system error and the only jacuzzi suite they had available was at a completely different hotel. We requested a refund, which they were very hesitant on. When they did issue it, they said it will take 4-5 business days. When we asked them why they charged the card to begin with after we told them during the original reservation and when they called about the deposit that we would pay cash, they said it was a "system error". We will NOT return!!

The receptionist is kind, helpful, and is just amazing. He always asks if you need anything and makes sure you're having a good time. The rooms look excellent and very organized. There was lemonade to serve for free while I was here and there was also free coffee. The lobby was so calm and relaxing. I loved this place and I would stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in April 2024. Very clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was always well stocked with eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles and more. Loved the 24/7 coffee. The staff were always friendly and accommodating. Beautiful view and restaurant right across the parking lot. Looking forward to staying again in the fall. They are also pet friendly, which is always a bonus.
