Nice place. If you need information about the plains in Illinois this is the place. It shows you the animals that live or lived in the Illinois plains. They also have taxidermy animals.

What a gem! Pretty creek is the perfect place to sit on rocks, watch the water flow and look for frogs, fish, turtles. Several trails converge here. There are two historical buildings, a home and a school, which are open on weekends for history - themed events.
The nature center itself is in a historic home used for special events and educational presentations. The best exhibit is a life sized look at the plants and animals living beneath the surface of the Fox River.

I had my wedding here and what an amazing experience that was! The grounds was beautiful for my wedding day. The grass was freshly mowed and the landscaping was free of any weeds or trash. The staff made the day go seamlessly and we’re very accommodating. The inside of the building was clean and the bathrooms were clean and stocked as well. I would recommend this location to anyone who is interested in having an outdoor wedding!

Loved this place! The indoor facility was awesome and the events they have for children are great! We went toad hunting, and they had tadpoles for the kids to see! Lots of fun and educational too!

Absolutely beautiful place to have a wedding. The facility has everything you need especially if you’re doing an outdoor event (indoors is pretty small). But in great shape and has clean bathrooms and kitchen area.

Great little kids corner to color and put on a puppet show. Spacious with a nice spot outside for a picnic. Also some pretty nice trails for a walk or bike ride
