This was our second time staying here this year. We returned because our first stay in May was good. Everything from check in to checking out went well. Our room was very clean and the beds were perfect. All of the staff were very friendly. There are several restaurants near by. We will be returning next year.

I just had to check out of the hotel this morning because I have repeatedly told the front desk about ants being in my room, and nothing being done about it. I am here for an extended stay and when I began my stay here  a few weeks ago, I came into the room with there being ants in the room. Originally it was just one but as the next few days passed, more ants came into the room. I told housekeeping, and i told the front desk. Despite housekeeping efforts, they kept coming. Eventually they changed my room, and there were also ants in that room upon arrival. This time they were even in my bed. I have been bitten twice by ants during my stay. Told the front desk again, my last straw was telling the manager this morning and i was berated by the manager about how i am the only one having this problem and i should just go to another hotel. I offered to show him proof and I was told that it would not change anything. I was taken aback by his response as I had approached him calmly and was just hoping for a simple solution. In conclusion, I checked out of my stay early, and have now gone to another hotel.

This Hotel had all the makings of a great stay and restful night. The check in/check out and any interaction with staff was great and always quick. Our room was very well designed, plenty of space, and the comfort you expect from a stay at Marriott. The bedding was amazing once you lay down you better have an alarm set ? you might miss breakfast snoozing that alarm. The breakfast options were pretty plentiful given the small space of the breakfast bar. I still however would have appreciated a few more hot options on the bar. Also in the room there was only one television so the person laying in the Living room area would have to be agreeable of what’s on the TV. These were my only 2 complaints with this place. If your traveling thru this area and you don’t watch much tv then this is a sure yes, but if you have older children who want to watch different television shows and programs than you. You may want to stay somewhere else. Overall great stay very relaxing 8/10 for my family

While our stay was good, the service was somewhat frustrating. My wife is allergic to feather pillows so we requested non-feather pillows, they asked us to come down and get them which was fine. However I checked in and they said “we’re getting them for you.” They let me sit for nearly 30 minutes before I walked back up and sure enough, it was the stack I saw being placed behind the counter when I first walked up. They did not care or even try much at all.

I recently stayed at SpringHill Suites Birmingham Gardendale, and it was one of the best hotel experiences I've had! The rooms were spacious and clean with very comfortable beds. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the complimentary breakfast had a great variety. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed the very large rooms and the breakfast. Didn't know they charged extra when you used your credit card or I would have paid cash. Also could hear people above us walking loudly.

We stopped here on our way to the beach for one night. The room was clean and comfortable. Everything seemed to be in working order. The front desk person was pleasant and helpful. We did not have any problems and slept well. We will probably stay again on our next trip to the beach in the fall.

Room nice and typical for SpringHill Suites. VERY disappointed they didn't offer iced water and coffee all day like at every other SpringHill Suites I have ever been to. Breakfast didn't start until 7am on a weekday! Too late for many business travelers. They didn't offer hot oatmeal like every other one I have stayed at. They are scrimping at this location and not offering what SPringHill Suites should.
