Everything was as expected. The rooms are a bit old, but clean. Exactly like the pictures online. The hotel has its own charm. The location is very convenient. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is someone at the reception 24/7. I have read some negative reviews regarding the house policies. E.g. you must leave your key at the reception when leaving. I actually liked it. I do not need to worry about losing the key. Allowing access to the rooms only to guests makes the place feel safe and keeps the calm atmosphere. The noise from the street is normal for a hotel located in the city.

We really loved our stay at the Nob Hill Inn. The location is ideal- just 0.3 mile from Union Square and the Inn is so charming and convenient. We got the 2 bedroom unit- sleeps 6 and comes with a fully equipped kitchen- microwave, stove top, refrigerator, dishwasher. The decor is so charming. They have a sherry hour in the evening and coffee and tea plus a few breakfast items for sale in the morning. Right across the street is a small market where we purchased some food items and had food delivered to our room one evening. It is just down the hill from Grace Cathedral and we enjoyed an amazing violin concert there one evening during our stay. I highly recommend this place!

Our stay here was very comfortable although unlike any other β€œresort” this is an older building with an old glass elevator inside the building. We had a nice room with a bathroom and shower included. Staff was very courteous and friendly and I feel like the area was safe. We only stayed here because our son lives down the street. It does not have the frills and luxuries of an upscale hotel or resort.

The staff are kind and courteous, unfortunately the amenities are lacking.

We were on the 4th floor and it was very warm all night(too warm). There is no air conditioning so you just have to open the windows but then you get major road noise all night.

The claw foot tub was very difficult to shower in and there was no adjustability for the temperature, the water was super hot so I couldn't really rinse my face or anything.

The location is decent though if you're wanting to be downtown.

The ambience of the Inn was beautiful. The best combination of a 1900's House with modern amenities. The staff was helpful 24 hrs a day. The night security staff even assisted us with a problem in the middle of the night! The location is great for nearby excellent restaurants. If you are in good shape there are plenty of hills, otherwise Lyft or Uber is the best solution(Buses or Cable Cars, also). There are thermostats in each room for warmth, but if it gets a little warm in summer, so far not a problem in SF, there are only fans. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We had to get used to using a Real Key to get in our room & you must leave your key at the front desk whenever you go out. The whole experience at the Inn provided for a quiet and sociable atmosphere.

The Nob Hill Inn is in a great location --- pleasant neighborhood, easy walking distance to Chinatown and Lombard Street, and two different streetcar lines. The staff is very polite and helpful. Rooms are gorgeous, and the price is reasonable, especially for San Francisco. We loved it and would stay again any time.

The hotel staff is rude and brutal due to the hotel's mistake the credit card was not charged. The receptionist reacted rudely and threatened to call the police. When the matter was settled he did not even apologize.
The shower is a bathtub surrounded by a protective curtain from water that sticks to the guest in a very repulsive way.
The rooms are old and loud noise comes from the street and makes it difficult to sleep.
There was no flexibility when getting the room even though we offered an additional payment.

Old fashioned time share with pleasant atmosphere. However if you have guests their is only one bedroom with a bed the other is an old fashioned pull out sofa bed. Would be nice if they upgraded to a better sofa bed. We also had a small kitchen which was nice and a small grocery next door for milk, bread, coffee etc. Convenient walk to Market Street off Taylor and close to Chinatown. In the days when I could walk many miles I would walk to the pier and parks.
