Had a quick weekend getaway back in November and stayed on the property the whole time. We had a fabulous room on the fourth floor with a corner view of the SF skyline and it was gorgeous at night and during the day. The room was incredibly spacious, with a king-sized bed and probably one of the largest hotel bathrooms I've ever had.

We had a late dinner down at the bar instead of the restaurant to watch some football. The service was great -- staff was attentive. The food was a little bit slow to come out unfortunately but the staff certainly made up for it. The burgers and fries were excellent as well as the hummus bowl. If you love olives, then you'll really love the marinated olive starter...I was shocked at how many olives were in the serving!

For breakfast, we made our way down to East Bay Provisions, the onsite cafe. Loved the cozy and warm environment of the cafe plus the view was fantastic. The pastries and coffee were great. They also had many fun food items for sale as well.

We didn't get to spend time in the pool (bit windy out plus didn't pack swimwear though their club did have swimwear and supplies available to purchase) but the environment was lovely and am looking forward to coming back at another time to spend at the pool.

We did spend time out front by their fire pits and outdoor seating area to soak up the sun and read a book. This area was a pleasant surprise. And once again, the view was incredible.

Can't wait for another stay!

The Claremont is now the only choice for us when visiting friends and family in Oakland/Berkeley. The hotel is lovely, the rooms are clean and nicely appointed (although a bit small for a "deluxe" room...), and the staff is terrific. Our bellhop went above and beyond when I thought I lost a room key and the housekeepers were very good and nice. There are only two choices for dining besides room service - the main restaurant is very nice - of course it's a bit pricey but the food and service are very good. The "quick bites" option is only open for breakfast and lunch - very tasty with great choices. We like to walk early in the morning - the hotel grounds is great for this as is the surrounding neighborhood. Beautiful property! I hope we can keep affording to stay there...

Staying at the Claremont didn’t feel like a Fairmont experience. It was inconsistent and not on par with others I’ve stayed at.

The Valet and Bell team were great, but the Front Desk team was cold and severely lacking in customer service. Upon check-in, no one was at the front desk and we had to wait for someone to come from the back room. When we got to our room, there was an engineering problem which required going back down stairs to have it resolved.

Once in our room, I discovered that we couldn’t place an in room dining order because there was no menu. When we did try to place the order, in room dining service didn’t answer and had to call back. However, the in room dining service itself and food were both great and prompt once resolved.

Luckily, the room was a great size, comfortable, and had a nice view. I appreciate the hotel’s classic but renovated charm.

I didn’t have time to take advantage of the amenities and spa. I’m sure I would have enjoyed my experience a little more if I had.

Overall, I found the inconstancy in service really disappointing and I’ll be rethinking my future reservation.

What a lovely hidden gem in the Bay Area! Came to town for a concert, and walking into the lobby felt like we were on a luxurious vacation. Our room did not disappoint: an incredible view, plenty of space, and the most comfortable bed ever. Staff were helpful and friendly, and location is absolutely perfect. Can't wait to return!

The staff was incredibly helpful and attentive to our family's needs and preferences, going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The room was spacious, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed, providing plenty of room for our family to relax. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, offering a perfect night’s sleep after a busy day. The overall atmosphere was welcoming, and the amenities exceeded our expectations, making for a truly memorable stay.

The hotel was beautiful and clean. It looks and feels like I am staying in a castle. ||The sauna and hot tub was amazing. I enjoyed the yoga and African dance class ||The staff and management were kind and accommodating ||I would definitely stay again and would recommend! 5 stars!

I absolutely love this historic hotel. Amazing food at the Limewood, beautiful rooms and service all around - especially Effie at reception, she is an icon! You absolutely HAVE to take advantage of the club- we played tennis and swam laps before laying out in the sunshine and dipping into the hot tub. This is an incredible resort where there are very few in the Bay Area - highly recommend!

3 Rooms need to be improved.
- layout and design are outdated
- Smells like molds and sewage.
- When we checked out, I noticed that there's water dripping on the ceiling.
4. Spa service is not for every day.
