I planned a surprise proposal here and could not have been happier! Thea and Desiree really took care of every detail, the lady at the front desk Natalie was incredibly accommodating and even the bell hop and valet guys were super friendly offering us a ride back to our our building. The wine tasting here at Trinitas with Jerry was incredible as well! Thank you to the Meritage Family!

Update: the staff reached out to me and offered an apology plus informed how seriously they take every negative review, which made me change my rating slightly. Hope to be back to give Meritage another chance soon.

The front desk never picks up your phone. The TV in our room wasn't working and no one could be contacted. The rooms are decent and there are plenty of amenities, which is nice.

My husband and I we spent two nights for Thanksgiving 2024. We love that this hotel has the Spa in a cave underground right above it has the vineyard landscape, which has trails for people to walk around. "Super nice with breathtaking sunsets." The hotel has a bowling facility/ bar. Wine tasting on-site. Does not offer complementary breakfast. You will have to go to "The Blend" cafeteria shop and get this they don't accept cash in any of their restaurants or bars or cafeteria, only cards. What we also noticed is that this hotel is handicap friendly from the pool's, the hot tub, and the spa, and they have a ramp on the first floor. Also, they welcome your pets with an extra charge (how nice is this). The room was super clean, and the personnel were all friendly.

I went this week for a conference. My room left a lot to be desired.

The towel rack fell apart as soon as I checked in, the sink wouldn’t drain and the toilet wouldn’t stop running. I had to take the toilet top off the tank to jiggle it each time I flushed it. The hotel did send people out to fix these issues - the next day.

I also had no shower curtain on my shower. I had to call and ask for my shower curtain. Several times.

What else? Oh, we ordered room service and my Napa salad was totally dry - no dressing. It wasn’t put on the side, either.

Finally, we had ordered a wine bottle through room service but the server didn’t bring a bottle opener/cork screw When I called and asked room service to please bringone, they said I had one in my room with the complimentary bottle of wine the hotel gives out (that was there when I checked in).

I had to remind them 1) I hadn’t even had a shower curtain when I checked in and, 2) that complimentary bottle had been a screw top, which was why I hasn’t noticed there was no bottle opener till the next day.

I stayed at the same hotel a few years before - in the same exact style of room - and did not have any issue so I’m not sure what is going on there now. Very disappointed in my stay.

Never did get that bottle opener delivered, by the way.

It was our first time staying at Meritage and it was the chosen venue for celebrating my birthday and wedding anniversary. The room was well-kept and equipped. My wife wanted a fireplace for a more romantic ambiance, alas the rooms in the Reserve aren't equipped with fireplaces. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and wished that we had extended it by one additional day. Olive & Hay was an excellent restaurant for breakfast and dinner. We had reservations at other restaurants during our visit.

We'd definitely return for another R&R visit in 2025.

What an amazing stay!! We started off with some issues (power problem in the first room), but we spoke to Xavier and he took great care of us. The wife just loves this place, so we always come back.

Completely unimpressed. Stayed here for two nights this Valentine’s Day. The Meritage charges a little over $1K for a 2-night stay and I’m not sure how they’re getting away with it. Arrival was nondescript. No one helped us with our bags or showed us to our room. And trust me, it is real trek to get from the main lobby to any of the ancillary buildings. The room itself was in poor condition; there were broken door handles, chipping paint, broken furniture, a broken toilet paper holder, and a malfunctioning drain in the bathtub. The decor looked like they ran out of money half way through an update. There was nothing relaxing or inviting in it. No notably comfy furniture, pillows, or bedding. It was difficult to get ahold of the hotel staff; calling from the room, we were often put on hold for several minutes before the operator would say “all associates are busy right now” and terminate the call. The TV’s are set up such that it is extremely difficult to watch anything other than their overpriced rentals; after the first night, an error code prevented us from accessing any streaming service; we called the front desk and, when we finally got through, we were told “someone from IT would be there soon”; 24 hours later and no one came. They boast that their room service is 24/7 but then make it impossible for you to reach them by phone. The in-room dining app stopped working entirely after around 12am. I don’t blame the hotel staff; everyone we spoke to were kind, hardworking people, doing what they had been assigned to do. This is clearly a managerial issue that has not been addressed in some time.

Meritage use to be a favorite and the place we would take out of town guests visiting Napa valley but no longer.

Booked and planned a special holiday getaway for our family along with another family. Had this weekend planned since June. Our kids were most excited to skate in their winter village. We purchased tickets to ice skate ahead of time. The other party we were traveling with was notified of a buy out of the rink with 3 days notice. I never received an email or a call. Had we not been visiting with the other party, we would have showed up to skate. We had 2 separate reservations so Meritage did not know we were together). There needs to be some sort of warning on their site that a buy out can happen at any time. I guess they care more about money than the guest experience.

My kids were heartbroken.

Such a disappointment especially from an establishment that prides themselves on being one of the best.

Proceed with caution and don't expect any advertised amenities when you arrive.
