5 stars all around. Service was amazing with Keren as a very friendly, attentive waitress to me and my dog! This place hit the spot for me. Delicious pastrami burger, garlic fries and an IPA. They have a dog menu too, so my dog enjoyed a puppy patty. Worth a visit! Well priced. Whole meal for me and my dog was only $33. Definitely will be back again. Plenty of street meter parking at only 25 cents per 30 minutes up to 2 hours.

Welcoming and friendly staff in a casual, family friendly environment with large screen TV's, enough space for larger parties, and a dog friendly patio. The burger is fresh and well prepared. I like that the meat was still pink on the inside and not overcooked. Service is super fast. There was a selection of about a dozen craft beers. Pleasant place on Chula Vista's popular Third Street.

My younger brother & myself decided to give this spot a try last night with expectations of it being average burger spot. & we were heavily mistaken.

The Balboa South has a very welcoming feel to it & once we walked in we were instantly greeted & seated. The service given by Angel was outstanding- showing passion in his work and explaining the history of the restaurant. He recommended some burgers to us that did not disappoint. The Balboa South will keep on making its mark on Chula Vista’s fine eatery.

The food overall is decently price and the quality is good for what you pay. Beers r pricey but at least they are quality brands. The staff is friendly and overall clean. And the animal style fries are far better than in n out and I do not hate on in n out

We went as a group of 8 and made a reservation. Got a high top table with bar stools. Only issue the bar stools were difficult to sit on. Otherwise the food was really good . My wife and I shared a very large burger and everyone else got their own. Good fries. And the Chef personally took care of us. We got a cake with a candle to celebrate my kids birthday from the Chef! Don’t rush us at all. Would go again.

We had an awesome time this last weekend at the Balboa South this Saturday. It was the owner’s birthday and they were very welcoming and kind to share cake with her customers and guests.

They had a contest for the guests and kids that had people having a great time. Lovely environment, lovely people. Thank you for the memories.

Delicious food and beer! Burgers perfectly cooked and the buns are so fluffy. Garlic fries are to die for! We all enjoyed our beer and I particularly liked the Black & Blue - a cider that’s quite bitter and yummy

Hello Chula Vista, what a hidden gem of a spot. The positive is the fact that the female part owner goes out of her way to make sure that y you feel like part of their familia. The food was flavorful, filling, and great tasting. The location is in the heart of downtown Chula Vista. I felt the price point was slightly high. The adult beverages seemed to do the trick. I drank Diet Coke. I did not finish my Centennial burger or my salad. FYI the fries can be their own addiction.
