Exceptional motel service. Very accommodating. Every worker we have interacted with has been friendly and helpful. The beach cruises were a fun bonus as there is a beautiful bike path near the bayside. Rooms were clean & bathroom clean. There was a tiny bit of mold buildup in the cracks of the shower tiles but I was not concerned because of the overall cleanliness. Great location. Just needed a fridge and microwave. Absolutely will be coming back in the summer to enjoy the pool as well!

Great motel! The staff is always friendly! They have a nice restaurant and little arcade. Parking is tight and limited, especially if you have a larger vehicle. The internet is probably my least favorite part as it’s pretty bad. I also wish they equipped the rooms with at least a mini fridge; there are no microwaves, self-serve coffee machines, or mini fridges in the rooms. All in all, if you just need a place to stay, it’s a great affordable choice 🙂

I love staying at this hotel! I’ve stayed 5 times now. The beds and linens are very nice. Rooms are really clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would give 5 stars but it seems like they are always under staffed in the restaurant. There is always a wait for a simple coffee or to buy anything.

My husband and I stayed here on the last leg of our honeymoon. We LOVED the aesthetic of the hotel. It was so fun. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the water pressure in the bathroom was nice. We went for a swim, and the pool is heated. It’s a 4/5 due to the lack of fridge, there weren’t enough outlets, and the toilet liked to run which was annoying and we had to fix it a couple times.

Positive: Very cute, retro vibe. Easy access to i5. Small cafe and store on site. Hotel was clean, beds and pillows were very comfy. Pool was heated and clean. Near restaurants and some stores and across from the bay. Staff was friendly and helpful. Negative: Only suggestion would be some towel hooks in the bathroom area, a full length mirror and the pool staying open til 10pm.

Overall this was a great stay-- I'd definitely come back if I'm ever in San Diego again. Unfortunately the wifi only worked in the lobby. It was not too much of a drive to the zoo/Balboa park, and the drive to La Jolla wasn't bad either depending on the time of day. I think it was all 12-25 minutes. The motel is cute and retro-- I wouldn't say it's super fancy or new, but it was clean and I really liked it. There's arcade games in the lobby and a decent area to sit, and I saved so much money on coffee because they give a 30% discount to motel guests at the coffee shop. I highly recommend a brown butter toffee latte!

Really enjoyed our stay here! Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and housekeeping did an amazing job refreshing the room every night. Within 20 minutes of everything.

Take a note of the nightly price plus all the other fees they charge you. They add a $100 refundable deposit. The bathroom had a hair on the tub, the water pressure is high, and everything else was very clean. However it gets really cold “, we had turned the heater on and for some reason at the middle of the night it was no longer heating. We spent half of the night with no heater.

The door/ windows are not very sound proof. You can hear the cars pass by the freeway.

The rooms have no fridge, no coffee machine.

I was asking the cafeteria for a microwave and they don’t offer one to guests.
